RPO Code WG4 ? Is this a real 2010 Grandsport.
I am confused after looking at the RPO codes on the glove box.
I found WG4 which is Model Conversion Grandsport. Z16 performance package Grandsport. Now also on the glove box I found 1YY67 which I believe is a base 2010 corvette. what is the meaning of all this ?

I'm assuming you car is a convertible. Is that correct? Because 1YY67 is the VIN number designating a base convertible. Do you know when you car was built? If it was built in 2009 I can only hazard a guess that your car was originally slotted to be built as a base convertible and then rescheduled to be contructed as a Grand Sport. I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable than I will weigh in. Don't panic.

WG4 and Z16 were used for all Grand Sports. However the model designator for a GS convertible was 1YG67. 1YY67 designated a (base) convertible.
Maybe Talon90 will chime in.

I don't know if this is correct, but I thought all cars start out with some base car features and then get "added onto" with options. For instance, I recall that the early (possibly still?) GS models came with some Z51 designations/parts listed as part of the base GS, and that F55 was also listed if it was selected as an option.

As stated already, the 1YY67 is the base convertible and the base GS is a 1YG67. Noe seeing that the 2010 model year was the first for the GS, I can only assume that the early production run did not have the 1YG67 in the codes so any GS orders received the WG4 PRO code so the line knew it was to be a GS morel. Later in the run the !YG67 was added and that was the identifier for a GS model.
Again I am only assuming this, maybe a few GS owners will chime in and look at their glove box and see if they have the WG4 and the 1YY67 in the VIN and also if any have the 1YG67 and no WG4.

If you want to get me the last 8 digits of the VIN, I will run it through the GM system and see what I find.

I have a 2010 GS 4LT Convertible and the VIN designation is: 1G1YT3 The Sales Model Code is: 1YG67. These are off of the window sticker.
The Glove Box sticker does have the WG4 code and the Z16 code.
Hope this helps.
Here's a link to GM's VIN DECODER site: http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vincards/
clicking on the correct model year (car or truck) brings up a PDF file that explains each digit in the VIN.

There are cases out there where the glove box stickes were altered by hand at the plant. They do not override the window sticker or the VIN cdes.

WG4 - MODEL CONVERSION CODE
Z16 - Z16 PERFORMANCE PACKAGE
Z51 - ADDED TO PRICE FILE TO GET LABELS - CODE WAS REPLACED WITH Z16 FOR MY2010 TIRES, STABILIZER BARS,SPRINGS, SHOCKS, GEAR RATIOS) W/MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Interesting, here are the pertinent options and descriptions listed in the GM system.
