Default New Corvette or keep my ride?

Own a 2011 Base Cp, oversize cross drilled brake with alum wheel option and NPP, Torch Red, Black int. Love the car! I think I would like Magnetic Selective Ride and HUD upgrades I didn't get those options initially as those options usually came with NAV which I am still not impressed with. With current discounts on C6 I'm thinking maybe I should go for a 2013 with those up grades. Bells and whistle upgrades or worth going after. What say you?

The C7 is going to be shown in only five weeks. I would wait until then to make your decision.

I have HUD and never use it and I don't have selective ride and not knowing the difference do not miss it either.

I may be in the minority, but I had hud and Magnetic Selective Ride on my previous C6 and don't have them on my 2011. I don't miss either one at all....

For 600 dollars installed HUD is avaiable so all you discussing is MRC which is nice but not worth selling and buying.

I just did the HUD last year with andrew6 installed the HUD and recently I installed a nice set of bilstein shocks which have better bump control and again it was inexpensive and effective,

That's a better way to go especially when you find out what your depreciation will be.

The dealers fool around with lifting trade in but the price of the new car just goes up accordingly with a trade in.

Enjoy that red beauty

Jumping on board, so...is the HUD, NAV, and Magnetic Ride Control not worth it?

I would have thought a NAV system is a good thing vs using your cell phone, and the HUD was a nice option to keep eyes on the road, and thought MRC was the latest and greatest ride in shocks?

Someone school us.

In my opinion HUD and Nav are a personal choice based on what you use or need. I am not a big user of HUD and I have it, and being that my Vet is a warm weather vehicle I have no need for Nav, and if I do I bring along my Garmin. I have never had a car with ride control so I can not personally comment on it's merits, but I do know most people who have it love it.

While I can't speak from experience re MRC/F55 or Nav, I tend to agree w. Dennis above and those who recommend waiting until at least the C7 comes out. Doesn't mean you can't (afford to) buy a C7 anytime later on, but it might get you thinking in a different direction. After all, that's why you came on here to ask the question, right?

As to HUD, I'm also a bit like Dennis in that it's nice to be there, but I don't really use it that much...sometimes, but not much. C6's built-in Nav there are pros and cons from actual users/owners. It's not all one way with everyone saying it's great. I'm one who actually likes my portable GPS.

And finally, as to MRC/F55, most like it, but some don't. No doubt it is the most advanced form of suspension engineering on the C6. But, some of those who don't like it also have trouble with it, as you've probably read on here, i.e., breaking/leaking shocks, cost to repair/replace, little difference/change in ride or control, etc. By no means, universal dislike.

Never use it? Unless you always have it turned off, how can you not use it? You are looking at it each time you drive.

IMO nav and hud are nice for some, but not must haves. No doubt MRC is the most advanced and expensive shocks available (also to replace). I'm sure they respond better than the the standard shocks, but is it worth trading in a low mileage car and taking a big depreciation hit for it? It's not IMO, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Yes I do keep it turned off all the time. I use it occasionally at night though, but not often. My son in law is a Marine F-18 pilot and he put me in a F-18 simulator with HUD on all the time. I crashed it every time so I blamed it on the damn HUD. LOL.

I wouldn't trade up from a 2011 (that you love) to a 2013 just to get those options. It would be an expensive transaction just for that. I have used the navigation only a few times, although I like the screen for my music options. I use the HUD, but also I find myself still looking at the dash instruments too. The HUD is a little harder to see on a sunny day and if you are wearing sunglasses.

As others have said, wait for the C7 and you can make a better choice.
