Looking at a 2009 base with f55. need advice.
With all the stories of f55 and replacement costs when and if they fail... is there something that I should look for when viewing this auto. are there and tell tale signs of any impeding failure etc. It will be sold as certified and has 420000km or260000 miles on it and is an auto.\Thanks

The F55 is supposed to last 100K + miles.
I'd look at it like any other shock and look for possible leakage.
Got an extra zero in those mileage #'s?

Get it.
I love the F55 on my '13.
Rides way better than my '06 coupe with Z51.

07 with F55 and would buy another. Get it. Look at the dampers (shocks) for any leakage. A small amount of "damness" evidence is "normal".

The most mileage on a C6 reported on this forum is slightly over 150,000. A 4 year-old car with an outrageous 260,000 miles must have been a major highway road warrior. Check the average MPH on the DIC. If it's around 50 MPH, someone averaged 3.5 hours per day driving the car and the seat must be worn out unless it's a replacement.
Since it's such a severely high mileage car, you could suggest to the seller to drop an additional $2K from the price for shock replacements. Of course, maybe they're not originals anyway.
I have 107K on my F55 and the shocks are bone dry. When I get a failure, I'll just buy used.

IIRC, GM does not certify used cars in excess of 60,000 miles. If this '09 is certified, either the odometer is in error or it's not done through GM.
