My first vette was at 32 yrs old, two young kids, house, dog, job and all. It was a piece of junk '77, but I spent many happy "decompression" hours tinkering or driving. Wife once said "this car is so impractical, it's only got two seats"! I promptly told her "yes, dear, and that's one too many"! Well, there has been a dozen or so vettes since then, along with a new wife that drives our vette as often as possible. Old guys rule!

Which is probably why the price will only go higher.

How long did you hold on to it before you used it?

I bet the ole lady was "impressed" as hell for that weekend.

It is not an old mans car....its just what most younger guys want and they can get it more easily when they are older.

Im on my 4th Corvette at the age of 31. Im a guy who owns Corvettes.....not a Corvette guy.

Hahaha......according to some of my golfing friends who are older they say it pops back up in about 10 minutes all on its own. lol Not sure about the size deal, willing to bet if it works by opening up blood vessels that it may make it more full but Im not a doctor and dont know much about old mens ***** so I cant really say one way or the other.

I will say I "tested" the use of a blue pill one day. My fiance at the time was so pissed off at me that she cut me off for over a week.

Same here, and some are 70+, like me with a 56, a 64 and a C6 Z06. Lets see, Harry is around 80 and enjoys driving his C4 ZR-1, his C6 Z06 and his C6 ZR1(but he doesn't drive his fiberglass Darrin very often. Maybe the 90 HP 161 ci 6 cyl engine isn't bad enough for him anymore.)

Bob is around my age and drives his 67 427/435 or his C6 ZR1 and even sometimes drives his wife's C6 Callaway SC606 GS vert.

Of course we also have a couple of youngsters(in their 50's) that drive a supercharged GS, and a Callaway supercharged coupe.

Most of the youngsters(in their 50's) are satisfied driving their stock C6's with 400 -436 HP.

Yeah I'm not too worried about a bunch of 60 year olds raising hell at the old country buffet.

Not to be disrespectful in anyway or start a flame war, but this is the first car forum I have been a member of that has a memorial sub-forum.

I bought my first Vette at 44 and almost all of Vette drivers I see on the road are 50+. I think it is odd that most people that comment about liking the car are younger. I should start asking them why they don't have one to see what their responses are.

I hear it often, in fact, one of my co-workers put a sticky on my window that read "Mid-Life". The guy may have just been a hater being that his wife wouldn't help foot the bill for a Pontiac Solstice that he was itching for years ago.

This is not an old man's car, but I can see that many "old" men buy it. I'm 45 in my first Vette, a 2012 that I purchase new 7 weeks ago. Even the Make-Ready guy at the dealership told me I was five years early. I actually tried to purchase a C5 about 10 years ago, and again almost pulled the trigger on a C6 4 yrs ago. Both times, however, the wifey told me hell no since we had kids. Well, my last kid will be getting her own car in the new year, so I told my wife no more excuses....I'm (finally) getting my Vette!

So, I didn't wait until I got 45 yrs "old" to get it, but actually I waited until the first practical opportunity to do so. I seriously doubt if I'll buy any other kind of car before I die, so (Lord-willing) I'll be one of the "old" 70 year old men in a C10 Vette that will still be addressing this stereotype...and loving it!!!

A base vette stickers for $50k which is cheap compared to a ZR1 but is a ton of money compared to a mustang or the japanese competition. Really 50k is a ton of money in general for the average american any way you cut it. And then once you get into cars with any real options or the up-models you're in a $65k car easily.
There it is.

Acknowledging the 20-some rich kids you will find on the internet, they are the exception rather than the rule. Few people in general can afford $50k to $130k for a toy, and most of them are going to be old. Just the way it is.

Show me ANY car in that price range where the average new buyer is younger than mid 50s at least.
