Part # for New Nav Disc?
Since we drive our C6 all over the U.S., I actually buy a new nav disc each year.
In November I went to the GM Nav Disc Center website, it said the 2013 disc was "available" but "out of stock". There was a way to leave my email address for them to notify me when it was in stock.
So far, no email notification. But I just looked on the site and it says the new version (2 discs, but that's probably just another GM website screwup) is in stock.
I'm a little skeptical, because my 2012 disc is marked v. 8.0, but the website says the new version is v.2013. The new SKU# is 22944166.
Can someone, especially you guys with 2013's made in the last couple of months, tell me how your disc(s?) is marked?
Thanks,

I saw the same thing about 2 disks but I went ahead and ordered it anyway this afternoon around 2pm. I currently have the same disk you have (Version 8) which came with my 2013 GS which was built (I think in August) and which I took delivery of in the middle of September 2012.
I have already received a shipping notice and it says I should receive the disk this Friday (Jan 4th). I will post a message about what I received.

I just received the new disk. It is labeled version 9.00, GM p/n 22944166 and there is only one disk (DVD) in the package. The accompanying user guide shows a map of all of the U.S. and Canada as the map coverage.
I haven't had a chance to put in the car and try it yet.

For those that weren't aware, this is a redirct to a new Navigation Disc update site. The old link (GMNavdisc.com) will take you to the new site.

Good news... I needed an excuse to get the Vette out and drive it, so I "tested" my new Navigational Disk (V9.00) that I just received today.
It looks like any roads, streets, etc that have been there for at least a year are on the new map. There is a new development of about 50 houses and 40 businesses (resturants, gas stations, movies, doctors) not far from my house that was not on V8 map but is now on V9. The newest parts of the development are about a year old and the oldest parts are 3 years old, however none of it was on V8 disk and all of it seems to be on the new one.
I also checked out a crooked 2 lane road that was replaced with a fairly straight 4 lane road about a year ago and the new road is on V9 disk but none of it was on the old V8 disk. The parts of the old road that are still there also show up on the new map with the "renamed" designation.
The two things I did run into are...
1.) The default search area goes back to Region 9, thus the system does not remember your last setting. I found that out when I searched for nearby Subway Resturants and the closest was 181 miles away. I am located in Region 6. A quick update and all the things around me are now easy to find. Not really surprising given it is a new map.
2.) The system does not remember which Point of Interest (POI) that you want to display on the map such as Resturants, Gas Stations, Parks, ATM, etc. You have to go back in and set that up again. Easy to do, fortunately I remembered how without having to do that awful thing and get out the manual.
Those are the only two "settings" it didn't seem to remember, the rest such as route preference, address books, home, etc were still there. The only thing that was erased (or forgotten) was recent destinations.
The only routing test I did was to get me to the Subway Resturant which was only 5 miles from where I was and the system choose the most obvious and correct route.

To answer the question about cost..
The upgrade cost is $200 plus shipping and handling plus state sales tax if your state has one.
S/H was $4 for 5 to 7 day regular mail, $10 for 2 day delivery, and I think it was $25 for next day. The sales tax is on both the cost of the disk and the S/H.
The order is handled by NAVTEQ on behalf of GM, however it ships from the FEDEX Order Fullfillment Center in Memphis, TN. By the time it asks you what shipping method you want to use, you have already entered your address, so the shipping cost may be location dependent. The above cost are for shipping to my location in central Kentucky.
I ordered it online Wednesday afternoon around 1pm, it shipped the same day arounded 5pm and got here today.
I choose the 2nd day option so total cost for the DVD, S/H, and sales tax was $225.

I would be careful using these in older Nav units. There have been several reports here that the version before this latest one was actually reprogramming the nav and turned it into a brick.

I recall getting the 2008 update and it was 2 dvds divided into Canada and the Eastern US and Canada and Western US. My single disk for 2012 was simply a dual layer dvd. I think you will find that the 2013 is also a DL dvd.
I noted that for the 2008 update, some US Easterners were selling the second dvd to those that needed the US Western states.
I will also try those links above as all I get is Out of Stock'
Thanks for the info

Interesting. Just got a 2013 Z and it came with Version 8.
Hmmmm.
For anyone who bought a brand new 2013 with NAV Option, what disc version did you receive with your new purchase?
Version 8 or Version 9?

IIRC, the new disc usually becomes available for the Bowling Green production line in late summer/early fall, and cars produced before then will have the old disc. That varies somewhat.
It seems like initial quantities of the new disc go directly to BG for the cars being built, then later (sometimes very much later) they becomes available for general sale.

I have a 2010 GS that is a CPO vehicle. I have looked through all of the documentation that I received and can't find any mention of free upgrades. Who did you contact about the upgrade?

I suppose this CPO does not apply to a new vehicle, do you know? That would seem odd that, a used vehicle CPO sold is authorized an upgrade but a new vehicle isn't unless I sold it.
