Hi Everyone!
C5/C6/ C7 Corvette owners know that the front skid plates are vulnerable to getting bumped and scraped. Fangs from SacCityCorvette provide the best possible protection available for your front skid Plates/Lower Radiator support on your C5/C6 / C7 Corvette. Made of a High Impact Superior Performance Plastic, the C5/C6/ C7 Fangs are extremely impact resistant and 6 times more abrasion resistant than steel and Installation only takes a few minutes. Being only 1/8" thick you will not even notice any clearance loss. There is NO drilling or modification required! C5 Fangs are a simple 10 minute bolt on using your factory bolts.C6, you simply glue them on or if you prefer, they can be screwed if you order the screw on kit. It comes with drill bit and tapping screws. Once the Fangs are installed you will have the best protection available. $49.99 is a very small price to pay for such good protection of such an expensive part of your Vette!
(Note: we still have the screw on C6 Fangs for those who prefer them. Check our website)

Some of the Benefits
1) They are only 1/8” thick so there is no noticeable ground clearance loss. That’s very important since there is not much clearance there to begin with!

2)The superior performance plastic we use is 6 times more abrasion resistant than steel making them slide very smoothly over what ever they come into contact with.

3)They perform perfectly in hot or cold weather.

4) They distribute the load over the entire skid plate where it is the strongest and can evenly distributes the impact, not on one side or the other where the side load can bend skid plate.

5)There are no moving parts to wear out.

6)They only weigh 5oz for those that worry about weight.

7)There is no drilling or modification needed to install them

8)The Fangs give protection over the entire skid plate. So if you bump up on a parking block like we demonstrate in our video you are protected from the front to back and from the highest point of the skid plate to the lowest.

9)They look like something that came on your Vette from the factory.

Here is a video of the Fangs getting used!

Fangs will help prevent this from happening.

No gluing for the C5 Fangs. They bolt on with factory bolts.

Did you see the video of a C6 driving up onto a curb? That should answer your question and is what convinced me.

I think if you run up on a parking stop or a steep driveway or a culvert they would work. But the problem I have had...ONLY ONCE was the support for the radiator seperated at the weld on the lower support which required replacing it. I do not think the fangs would have stopped that.

Well since you asked, I don't see as how your slip cover would prevent any damage to anything other than what it's covering. Certainly it won't do any more 'good' than the OEM part it's covering right?

I would normally agree, but these are working well for me. I have a steeply sloping driveway with a shallow gutter at the entrance. No matter what kind of angles I use I seem to drag at least one of the skid bars every time I enter or exit. The aluminum skid bars would have worn through pretty quickly, and they were also marking up my concrete pretty badly. I put on some of the plastic covers (glue-on type) and they slide nicely when I drag the concrete (leaving no marks). They seem to be pretty tough and should last a long time. I'm happy with them. Maybe when they wear down SacCity will give me a discount on the next set??

Hi Terry,
They do help prevent damage by just sliding instead of the metal grabbing traction and breaking the support. Believe me, we have tested this theory.

If you could post a pic of them after they've scraped a few times, it might be a good selling point.

Default So do they fit or apply to a grand Sport?

I saw the video, The skid bar was removed from the car. Is that a requirement? Do they fit a 2014 Grand Sport?

Hi kfede1,
We used a skid bar out of the car just for better visual. Its a simple install on the car.
Yes they fit the 2014 GS but may not be necessary since the splitter will probably hit first. We have a few customer that installed Fangs as a precautionary.

Thanks,
Christian

$50 for two pieces of plastic? Seems like the Vette front end isn't the only thing getting gouged.

Hi RHFD122

They both work the same. Some Vette owners just didn't want to drill so we came up with a alternative. With the glue on Fangs, just make sure you get the quick ties nice and tight while the glue dries. Then cut the quick ties off.

Thanks
Christian
