C6 Still Looks Good
I have been over on the C7 forum most of the time for that past few days, but I just finished a quick detail on my '07 Monterey Red Metallic coupe and I still think it is a sexy looking vehicle. We all knew that one day our C6's would not be top dog, but I happen to think they still are right up there.
Will I move up to a C7, mostly yes, but I don't see it for a few more years.

Ill also be waiting a few years but its going to hurt. I want that c7 more than I have ever wabted any other car. Yea my c6 is still a nice ride but once that c7 hits the streets I dont think ill be able to drive my current car anymore. My pride while passing a new c7 on the street while driving my c6 will just take too much of a batering.

C6 is always going to look good, really can not wait though to see the C7 in person.

Its funny you posted this. I saw some pics from when the C6 was unveiled at the LA auto show back in 04, and I thought it looked dated to me. But that was the standard narrow body car with color top and silver wheels. But when I see some newer C6 cars with black or chrome wheels and the GS, I see the car still looks mainstream to me. As in not dated like when I look at the interior of a C5. I really would have bought a much cheaper C5 Z06 when I was looking last summer, but I just couldnt get around that horrid interior. Now I see the C7 interior and hope the next time I get into my C6, I dont start thinking my GS interior is crap. Im sure I wont. Havent driven the car in a while due to weather.

I guess I am just not that vain. I drove my C5 for a long time before moving up and I never felt that I had an inferior car. Oh sure the C6 had more features and more HP, but the C5 was a nice looking car and I feel the same about the C6.
I understand your point and it cans down to each individual.

I will have had mine 7 years in May, and I still Love looking at it. Granted I have done a lot to it, but I don't love it any the less after seing the C7. I will probably buy one next year, or whenever they anounce a bigger engine. Be it Z06, or ZR1....
But whats not to love about the C6?

I like the front and side views of the C7 (the back hasn't grown on me yet).
I took a look at the good in-focus up close pictures someone posted, and to me it still has the "miles of cheap plastic" interior (I don't really care anyway, that is why I bought a vette instead of a BMW), and I can readily see in the pictures that the body panels aren't any better fit than they are on the C6. So I don't think we are seeing any real "quality" upgrade here.
We have a very slight bump in power, being less than the bump from the LS2 to LS3. This would be nice if the car weighed less, but the weight I've seen bantered around so far (3200+)? along with the quarter mile time (12.4) no different than the current car.
I'm not going to dump all over it or say "I HATE IT!!!" while frothing at the mouth; I think some angles look pretty good, especially on the silver one. It is my honest assessment that based on what we know and have seen so far, I don't see any major reason to go running out to try to replace my '12 even if I could afford it. Maybe if something unforseen happens and it is a lot faster in the real world I'll be more inclined to try to get one sooner rather than later.

I agree with the fit and finish and I don't think the interior was so much of an upgrade as we were thinking it might be.
Now don't get me wrong it is still a Corvette, just a little more European then in the past.

I agree...
And really, something else to consider:
LS2 stock dynos seem to indicate the car is correctly rated at 400hp. Many/most LS3 stock dynos seem to suggest the car is somewhat underrated and may be closer to 450hp anyway. How this compares to the new LT1, I guess we will know by the end of the year.

I wasn't expecting to like the C7 and I wanted the 427 so bad it hurt when I bought it. Buyers remorse now? A bit. Especially since they'll be offering the C7 in Laguna Blue. But then again, I haven't seen one in person yet and when I do...........I may not like it at all (I hope). Plus someone told me that my 13 looks "old". Ouch! Either way, I plan on keeping my new one till I'm too old to drive it any more. And that (hopefully) will be many, many years from now.
If you're lucky enough to own a Corvette..............you're lucky enough.

I will always think the C6 widebody looks AMAZING!! I will always think a lowered, modded C5 FRC/Z06 looks AMAZING!! Not having the newest model on the street isn't a bad thing!! If the widebody GS hadn't come out, I would have never bought a C6! My wife who is a HUGE Corvette fan and is the reason we bought our first Vette and started our Vette adventure looked at the C7 last night and said that it doesn't look anywhere near as good as our GS does. Let the people trash-talk the C6 and say it's dated and whatever else! The C6 will always be one of the best bodystyle generations!!

The C6 widebodies will keep their appeal, for sure. Having said that I will move to a C7 in a few MYs. But, until then my '10 GS will keep me interested.
