Tight 2 car garage...

Extra wide, extra deep 3 car garage. Double door on left, sink and wall mount vacuum on front wall, wife's Mercedes on left, my F250 in the center, Vette in single door on the right, cabinets and work bench in front, Kubota behind with seasonal attachments. Works great for me.

I have a sting hanging from the ceiling in my garage with a plastic weight at the bottom. I use it to center up my car and when it touches the windshield I stop. Works great.
As a second fail safe measure, I have a 2"x6" board on the floor to stop going in too far also.

When we first got my wife her new Tahoe she could not get it parked correctly in the garage. Had to park at a slight angle so she could get in and out without tearing the side mirrors off.
I used a black magic marker and put a vertical line on the wall of the garage where the driver's side mirror needed to be lined up with that line while parked correctly as well as a vertical line on the front wall of the garage so that when she pulled into the garage, with the steering wheel straight at 1200 position she could put her index finger at that 1200 position and point it at that line on the wall as she was pulling into the garage. Pull forward until the mirror was lined up with the line on the side wall and it was a perfect park job every time. Simple, but effective every time and cheap as heck too!

I use a Laser parking system help guide me in and stop at the same point every time. I have used this system for nearly 10 years and its great
I have the laser adjusted so it runs down the center of my hood, and as i advance in the beam comes through the windshield and travels over the dash. Once the beam drops off the dash I stop.....perfectly every time
You can get these at various places...do a web search or try Amazon...they cost about $20 for a single and $30 for a double. The pic below is a double. as for me I have 2 singles.

I collapse the drivers side mirror which gives me a few more inches....works for me...and I have the smallest garage possible. Right side as I pull is is concrete wall and I haven't hit it yet (*keeping my fingers crossed....) I have also seen people hang a tennis ball as I guide....better to hit the tennis ball than anything else....good luck with that.

Maybe try two dangly strings with soft plastic weights. The first one contacts the windshield to tell you that you're on center, the last one to tell you to stop. If soft, the first one to contact can just harmlessly get dragged over the car top.

The laser system is a great idea. Another idea is to fasten 2x3 eight foot studs to the floor that would guide you in. I have seen this used to guide airplanes into tight T hangars.

I use these in my garage.
They plug into a 110V wall socket but I wired mine into the Garage door opener's light socket so they only operate when the light is on.
