Just got back from working out. Went to grocery store on way home and see a blue older model (won't say what to protect innocent) Corvette about midway in parking lot, no cars within several spaces in either direction. I park my red C6 along the passenger side and get out to see a white older model (won't say what to protect innocent) Corvette pull into the lot and he pulls into space nose to nose with the blue one. As he is getting out of his Vette I smile broadly and say , "What could be more American than red, white and blue Corvettes." He says, ,"And I'm carrying a gun too." Although that is legal here, it is odd to start off saying that unless one feels threatened. I say, "I'm not. I used to have a Vette like yours" and he says, "Yeah, I changed the engine in mine." I said what do you have and he says he tells no one that. It occurred to me that he was leary of me because he didn't know I owned the C6 so I said, "Well, I've got an LS3 with 430 hp." He said, "I'll line up against you." I said, "You really won't tell me what motor you have?" He said no. I quickly walked ahead of him and ignored him as he said, "Have a nice day." He was a VERY poor ambassador for Corvettes.
Guess he doesn't wave at passing Corvettes?
Next time ask him if his gun is bigger than yours.

Too true. This happened today about a mile from where the deal happened with me yesterday. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!
Suspect sought in fatal Phoenix office shooting
By CNN Staff
Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) -- Phoenix police were searching Wednesday for a 72-year-old man suspected in the shooting of three people, one of them fatally, in an office building.
Steven Singer, 48, was pronounced dead at a hospital, said Phoenix police public information Officer James Holmes.
The other two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police identified the suspect as Arthur George Harmon, who was last seen in a white 2013 Kia with Arizona license plate AVS2052.
The incident was reported at about 10:30 a.m. (12:30 p.m. ET) near the intersection of 16th Street and Glendale, said Sgt. Tommy Thompson, a public information officer with the Phoenix Police Department.
"A man described as a white male, possibly older, went into an office, got into some type of an altercation, and he shot three individuals," Thompson said. "He fled the scene, we believe, before we got there."
Thompson said he did not believe the shootings were random. "We believe that this individual was probably known to the victims," he said. "We believe that this individual came to this location, for whatever purpose, got into an argument, which turned into gunfire."
Attorney Mark Hummels was identified by his law firm, Osborn Maledon, as one of the victims. He was involved in a client mediation when he was shot, the Phoenix firm said.
The building houses several medical-related businesses.
Former astronaut Mark Kelly referred to the shooting during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in Washington on gun violence. "There's 50 or so police cars on the scene," he said.
Kelly and his wife, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, this month launched Americans for Responsible Solutions, which seeks to raise money to counter the influence of the gun lobby.
Two years ago, Giffords was shot in the head by a gunman in a parking lot in Tucson.

I don't even bother to correct most people. I met a guy once at a Corvette club get together at Sonic one night, when I was briefly a member, who had ZR-1 badges on his base C4. When he said he was just using the emblems, I had to say something politely off topic and walk away.

Can't have a free country unless they put a lid on these individuals.

The guy you talked to didn't have a Red Corvette. In the pic I see a Yellow Corvette.

The picture being shown here, of the 70 year old, 6 ft tall, 200 lb guy, looks , in general, like the guy, but I have seen no indication of a white Vette being associated with the suspect. I doubt it is the same guy BUT it is kinda spooky and just goes to show that you never really know what is going on with people you have chance encounters with.

I wouldn't have been bothered by the guy's gun declaration, but being secretive about the engine swap is a definitely a sign of douchebaggery. I mean if he really had something to hide or keep a secret with the engine, why even mention the swap in the first place? Silly I tell ya.
