Default C6 Options

Hey guys, I'm looking at a 2013 GS, but it lacks Magnetic Ride Control and Dual Mode Exhaust. Normally I would like these options and was wondering how useful the magnetic ride is and whether the stock exhaust sounds good at WOT without the dual mode feature. I know I gain 6HP according to the specs. These seem to be popular options and wouldn't want to buy something that would hold back selling it later or deprive me of the features now. Most GS's seem to have these I noticed.

Thanks.

Buy those options because you want them not for resale..I have both on the Z and would not have purchased a Z without MRSC/PTM...I had NPP on my 08 and loved it when they opened up...

I will not purchase any Corvette without magnetic ride control. NPP exhaust I can live without. Doesn't open soon enough. Get a Corsa system, sounds better.

Mine has Z51 and I wish it had Magnetic Ride Control. Not a huge deal because I bought the car used.

If I was buying a new one, I would get MRC. As long as you don't mind spending the money.

MSRC was a must have when I ordered my coupe. I like the dual mode exhaust too. Don't settle for less than you really want!

IMO, the MRC is a must have on a Vette...Especially if you go on long trips. The NPP is nice and unlike one of the previous posts...you CAN control it so it is on all the time or off when you want it to be with an aftermaket device. Also, it adds 6 HP...

Don't pass up the NPP you will end up not liking the sound and paying 1500.00 for a aftermarket system.

I avoided the MRC.. Posts about shocks going bad/leaking and the cost of repair compared to the standard.

NPP with $80 mild to wild mod sounds as good or better than any aftermarket system. Plus you get the option of going back to stock stealth mode when you roll in at 2am and dont want to **** off the nieghboors.

The NPP with M2W is a great way to go. I keep mine in the off or open position most of the time. On the highway I turn on the NPP and close the butterflies and there is zero drone.

Also, the magnetic ride is pretty damn awesome.

Default Npp yes. Ride control, maybe

Had Mag Ride on my 05 vert. Had Z51 on my 07 vert and 08 coupe. Have the base suspension on my 10 vert.

I would only buy the Mag Ride if you are buying a GS. It has the Z51 as standard suspension. It is a little stiffer than normal for long drives. I would not buy it on a base car. I don't race the car and the base suspension is more than enough for me. That is one reason I don't want a GS.

You have to figure that GM engineers wouldn't design a suspension system that couldn't handle the power of the car. At least for street use.

I just bought a base coupe with standard shocks - the ride is fine and I plan to keep the vehicle a long time - std shocks should be a LOT cheaper to replace ... if and when.
