Default Special order behind the scenes look inside the Callaway facility!30+ pictures...

You may remember a few weeks ago I posted(http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-delivery.html) about Billy from NY and his Special order Callaway...He first ordered his new Callaway Corvette from me in November...then did the Engine build process in Michigan Jan 15th...then visited Callaway Hdqtrs in Old Lyme,CT upon it's arrival...well here are some inside the Callaway Plant pictures as his Corvette gets completed. If you plan on going to the Bash at the Corvette Museum in April then you will witness Billy and his wife taking Corvette Museum delivery in Bowling Green,KY! Billy will be the one on Cloud 9 as he accepts the keys from Chris Chessnoe of Callaway. The Callaway vehicles are highly engineered with quality 2nd to none and a peerless warranty! Call 301 212 4420 for more info. Mike Furman Criswell Chevrolet

Great build but Callaway needs to go back to billit for performance, heat dissipation, long life and just plain style. I want my supercharger to look like a Callaway Corvette not a Mustang.

Default Wow Mike, impressive to say the least!!!

Billy gets the power and performance of a ZR1 and the look of the Grand Sport with the cool see through top that you can take off. The best of both worlds plus warranty protection.
A Stunning & impressive Corvette.
It looks like the interior is a 4Lt or is that Callaway upgrades. I realize the center armrest and gear shift are Callaway but with the red interior stitching and the 4LT Alcantara inserts on the seats I was surprised that he got a leather steering wheel as opposed to the standard 4LT Alcantara material. I personally prefer the leather steering wheel like what Billy has.
Mike thanks for sharing the photos. Look forward to seeing the finished car.
Keep selling more Corvettes Mike. Want to see the C6s sold so we can get more info on the C7.
Cheers,
Fuze

We should not lose sight of the fact that this entire process......from the initial sale to the final delivery has been so well documented by Mike at Criswell, as well as Chris from Callaway. Both men facilitated this process, calling on many decades of experience with Corvette, as well all of their industry contacts to pull this remarkable feat off without a hitch.

This is not only a one of a kind experience for Billy the buyer, but I have never before seen this process documented on C.F.

Certainly one for the record books......one for the history books. And it all took place at the very end of the C6 generation. Lots of "firsts" here.

Many timetables had to be achieved for this to happen as seamlessly as it did. First Billy had to order before C6 allocation had ended and he had to make sure by waiting so late that there were no Factory constraints at that time as well. Then we scheduled the option of ENGINE Build for Jan 15th with production completed at the plant the first week of Feb. Upon Corvette Plant production we Fed Ex'd back and forth the Contracts etc...Then it had to be shipped to Callaway for their special preparation of all that Billy was seeking...Once completed in Old Lyme, CT..Plycon will enclose trailer it back to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY..knowing the end result will be Corvette Museum delivery April 23rd...I would venture to say this 2013 Callaway Corvette will be the VERY LAST "C6" Corvette Museum delivery! Lori B (Delivery MGR) at the Museum is ready and waiting for it and it certainly will be a special day as Chris Chessnoe from Callaway is flying in early (Bash that weekend) to hand the keys over to Billy and his wife...the real trick will be if I can get away and be there for the day...Chris is trying to get me to fly the 700 miles each way...hmmmn, let's see what I can do.

Thanks for that chronology, Mike!

Your trip to the Corvette Museum for this day of delivery is simple......just tell Mr. Criswell to keep that date open for the Corporate Jet!

Just a quicky......over and back!

Paying your own way......now we like that!

Doing this trip in your Volt would be very economical as well.
