Dave - Thanks. I'll pass along the hello. Ken pretty much summed it up in one word. I should have the estimate tomorrow. It's not going to be pretty but that's what insurance is for.

I hit a deer at 50mph this morning. It was dark and it came out of nowhere. I did not realise what I had hit until I got the car stopped. I did not get hurt, the car is messed up pretty bad, and the deer was killed instantly. It sounded like a bomb went off. The headlight assembly literally exploded all over the road.
As of now it looks like I'll need a fender, hood, headlight assy, front bumper cap, front splitter, inner fender liner, and there may be suspension damage as the right front does not point straight when the left does. No airbag deployment. I took delivery 21 Sep 12 (427 conv.). The car has 1871 miles on it.

Now, if you were a real redneck (like my in-laws) you would have tied "Bambi" to the hood of the 'Vette and taken her down to the processor. Lotsa good eatin' there...

I no how you feel. I was driving to work in my vert with the top down. It was very foggy. A deer ran into me,pass side front fender. I never saw it. It sounded like a bomb went off,car shuddered. I looked to right and there was the deer coming up over the windshield. I thought it was goining to land in the pass seat. I yelled an expletive, but it landed on the trunk, then fell on the ground. The car was repaired good as new. Car is Cyber Gray and paint matched perfectly.Good luck.

Man I hate seeing these damage vette pics. However if it's any constellation, the deer vs Vette beats the pickup driver who drove over the same front fender in a TGIF parking lot of a guy here with a yeller Vette and never left insurance info. Hit and run.
Were I the gent with this yellow Vette I'd be pissed much longer, than having the same damage with a deer.
Best is, that you're okay.

Sorry about the damage. At least you were not hurt.
Good luck with the repairs. Hope they do a perfect job for you.
