the little things make such a big difference.
Swapped out the ugly headlights a few months ago and it was finally time to get the fogs changed, what a big difference in appearance of the overall car with just a small change. Got a great price on them too.

My fogs looked just like that. I bought a lens restoration kit just for giggles, and surprisingly, it turned pretty decent. Not "brand" new looking, but does not looked pitted any more.

It's a pain, but you can make them look brand new. The first step is the most important, with the 500 grit, or whatever you base grit is. This step will take a long time, because you're also removing the stock protectant. It's easiest with a rotary tool. If you run out of 500 grit pads, wet sand it with 500 grit. I recommend the 3m kit, it is great for the price. Just be aware that you need to work very hard on that first layer.
Also, you don't need to buy a kit, it's just a good starting point.
Some 500, 1000, and 2000 grit sandpaper, along with plastic polish and do the same thing by hand.

that damage in my fog lights as well as what I had in my headlights? They are micro cracks in the acrylic itself. Thats not polishing out anytime soon.

So before we chip up the new set of fogs, I grabbed a set of 3M clear fog light protectors from Ecklers. Very easy to install but not a perfect fit, short in some areas and too big in others. I'll keep an eye on these and periodically update everyone on how they work, last, and most of all protect my foglights.
For those of you confident enough in restoring the lenses of my old fogs they are for sale. Make me an offer. Everyone needs a back up set yes?

My headlamps and fogs have clear bra on them. Cost is about $50. When it eventually looks bad, I'll take it off and put new on. Always perfect, no coating damage

UPDATE: Using the 3m clear fog light film works magnificently! They still look brand new. Very happy with the product and its protection.
