Default The C6 turns heads

I'm pretty sure I'm not telling you gents somethng you didn't already know...but as a new Vette owner I'm still surprised at the attention this car draws. The lady at the bank drive thru said over the mic "NICE CAR!". Kids yelling from a block away the same kind words. The last 5 consecutive times at gas stations I've had people come up to me and strike up conversation about the car. City cops have waved. Color me humbed. Thank you Chevrolet!

I agree. The Corvette is unlike any other car that I have owned.

I know what you mean! I get compliments all the time as well, & thumbs up on the freeway. It's kind of gratifying but embarassing all in one. Of course I would not have bought if I hadn't thought it was sharp looking & a fast sports car.

It is much better than my words, when as a youngster and seeing an AMC Pacer in a parking lot, I commented to a guy who was standing by watching me curiously, "What an ugly car!". Next thing I know he walks around the car, gets in the drivers side, and drove off.

You compare! I think I got the nicer car!

I am actually surprised with the amount of attention I get. Other drivers I find are even less reluctant to let me squeeze in a rush hour lane change without much effort!

Once new rims and exhaust goes in over the winter though, I am expecting to go from "turn heads" to "break necks"

I look at it this way you see more Vettes on the road BUT how many "Pacers" do you see ??

Note to self:
Do not get caught dead in a Pacer !!!

I have also noticed that people keep a little more distance between their front bumper and my rear, and changing lanes is less likely to illicit a quick speed up to prevent my merge (I hate this, unless it's to prevent some jerk from bypassing a traffic jam and cutting over at the last minute). Plenty of thumbs up, and shouts from the sidewalk. I do not really like the fishbowl feeling with the top off at a stop light. People really gawk down inside the car, but hey, it's what we signed up for.

Strangely, I get a lot more "wow, nice car" from valet guys with the GTO than any of my friends do in their cars like an S5. I think it's because no one really goes out and gets a GTO (especially once in good shape with a 6spd) unless they're a car guy. It's parked out front entirely too often

There are a lot of non-enthusiast S5 or covette owners. They didn't make as many GTOs either, i guess.

I did not expect all of the attention when I bought the car.
