The most unlove corvette
The title is a joke, of course
I love my vette and I plan to keep it for awhile
My 05 has around 60k miles and i bought it new with about 7 miles on the odo
two years ago at around 52k i bought rims, installed sways, Heavy duty end links, and had a full tune up. Since then i have matte vinyl wrap the roof and the halo, replace the rotors and brake pads, and performed about 3 or so oil changes. I also pick up a glass top off of a forum member.
I don't really drive my corvette much since i got a honda fit. I put a tow hitch on the fit to carry my bicycle and snowboards but my finance likes my fit more than her corolla and i don't have any way of taken my bike to the trail. I can fit the bike in the trunk of vette but it gets messy with mud and the chain. I would like her to drive my vette but its a manual and shes pretty bad. The corolla is her mom's car and i don't want to modify it in anyways. so i came up with this. some of you might think i am crazy but its my car and i choose to do this to fit my situation.
Its my spare top which flew off my car around 4 years ago i was going to throw it in the trash anyways, so why the hell not.
I only use this top when i am going to ride my bicycle. I drive about 3 or so miles to the trail where i normally ride

Melting Slicks
Well since it flew off and you were gonna toss it anyway then like you said why the hell not...I say its fine...however I could only imagine other vette owners in your town trying to wave to you with their jaw dropped

I don't think so. Not sure of any kits made for convertibles besides just using the passage sit and using the the seat belt as a tie down
even I wouldn't do that
Its one of the universal Roof Racks you can buy from autozone or walmart. Its made by Highland or something like that. I picked this kit because it was cheap and i saw the kit in real life, so i was pretty sure it would fit.

I took it out just to make sure it would stay on. The mount itself is rock solid, but with the bike and in the turns its a little dicey. I am not planing on going over 40 mph with a bicycle on it. I guess i just need to tie down the bike better and it will be all good

Oh noes, you drive your car in the rain!
J/K, looks like a good way to put the old top to use.

Drifting
Looks like you were luckier than me with these bars... I never tried on the Vette (and never will) but I did use them on a Mitsu 3000 GT when I needed to carry a small white water kayak on it, and I did some damage on the top, which is not even a removable top....in order to avoid the bars to slip, you have to apply a decent amount of pressure on the top, via the straps, and it dinged the top in a couple spots. They've been stored in my garage since then.
Silly question (and sorry if was asked before) but if the trail you go to is 3 miles away, why not ride the bike there?....
Highway only?

Nice solution to the problem.
I take the wheels off my bike and stick it in the trunk. If I move my passenger seat forward just a bit I can put the bike in with only the front wheel removed.
