It was better than a dream.
Totaly cool you let the 17 year old girl drive your Vette. She'll remember that for life. Plus you pre programed her in that 20 years from now when her husband tells her he's buying one, she wont resist much....

That's what it boils down to. Good post!
Sometimes if I feel stressed or annoyed about something, I just open the garage door and have a peek. I find it soothing.

Amazing cars we drive. I'm a lucky guy...just started summer vacation so plenty of time for discretionary driving. Good times...

well, if you drive topless, i can't see you due to the fact that i live in pa. so, by all means, go topless.

I hear ya...and your story is almost exact to mine today. Here in SC it was also in the mid 80's and sunny. I popped the top off and took a 101 mile ride on the back roads past cotton fields, tobacco fields and about 50 churches. I even found this old general store with a rusty Sinclair sign and the old 1920's gas pumps that were also rusty. Truly a great ride and view all while listening to 60's on 6 and the NPP exhaust! This is what these cars are all about...DRIVE THEM!

Ditto!
Yep. OP nailed it - that's what it's all about. 3 days of nice weather here in GA, 30 mile commute to work on windy back roads with a few straights and the top down on my vert - I'm in a GREAT mood when I get home.

Mid 80's and top off...I love everything about my vette, just owning this great affordable American sports car is beyond words. I don't care that at 8500 miles I am shopping for tires, or that the navigation is sub par or that the GS/ wide body gets less mpg than the standard coupe. I just love to take off the targa top, keep the performance exhaust on, radio cranked up and roll along however I damn well please!!
This forum and the helpful posts are great and I don't even mind those that think there opinion is best and the only one that important......at the end of the day I OWN ONE VERY AWESOME CAR!!

+1 Third week of vette ownership and I am really enjoying the car. I read posts about MPG and such but I just turned the tripmeter off and when the fuel gauge gets low I put fuel in it and DRIVE. What a fun car.
