Twisted seat belt in a 2010 Vert
The drivers side seat belt in my 2010 Corvette Vert is twisted. Is there a home fix for this or is this going to be my first trip to the dealer? Thanks to all of you who help make this site so valuable to Corvette owners like me!

No pictures ....but I will photograph and "try" to post in a couple of hours. It is not jamming, but I am worried about its function if an accident occurred. I bought this car online in December 2012 with 5900 miles and it came delivered with the twist.

I wish that was the solution.....it needs to be unfastened from the floor or the upper post to take the twist out. My assumption is the previous owner took delivery new with the belt twisted.

Our 2005 Vert had the same situation and I scratched my head to see if I could make the repair. I took it to the dealer and it was untwisted in 20 minutes. We bought the car new and I had not seen this again until now. Frustrating but an easy fix at the dealer.

More likely, it was twisted when someone removed the seat.
This might've happened when replacing damaged leather. Or maybe while installing an upgrade: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-kits-jwm.html
Anyway, it's easy to disconnect the belt at the seat. Just one bolt. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC you can access the bolt with the seat in the car... otherwise you'll have to first unbolt the seat.
Watch a pro remove the bolt (skip ahead to 3:05):

The end of the lap belt that fastens to the outside seat frame has a pin in it that extends into a hole in the seat frame. The pin keeps that portion of the belt from moving to far back and forth. If the end of the belt can pivot around the stud it is mounted on then it might be installed backwards with the pin sticking outward Vs inward.

Well here is a picture......I tried to rotate the belt 180 degrees , but there is not enough clearance.

thats nothing that needs to be taken off to fix. You have to fold the belt (the right way obviously) and force it through the slim opening of the piece that slides on the belt.... It's a little harder on the vette cause the opening is thinner than most other cars but it is possible. If you don't understand my instructions let me know i'll try to take a pic/pics of me doing it on my car......

like this, but it's not as easy on the vette cause like i said the opening is thinner than most, BUT it is doable and not something that a dealer should steal your money for!!! If you can't get it, there's got to be a local corvette owner that would be willing to help.....
