Haven't washed my car in 6 weeks!

I can often go two or three months between washing my Corvette, as I don't drive it in the rain so I just need to use detailing spray every time I drive it in order to get rid of the dust.

just use Dri Wash n Guard and then all you have to do is just wipe it down occasionally with a good wet cloth and dry it with a good microfiber
or terry cloth towel and WALLA
a beautiful clean and shiny car with protected paint and a small amount of time invested
AND you saved a boatload of water along with the time
I have been doing this with my rides since I became a dealer for DWG in 1996
I would not ever use anything else

Yes. My previous C6 once went 12 months without being washed. Much easier to wipe off the dust with the detailing spray of your choice with some microfiber towels. If you get caught in the rain then it is time to break out the wash bucket.

You can't be serious???
You must keep it garaged, covered, and never drive it.
Mine is garaged all the time, driven only one, or two days a week, and an average of only 250 - 300 miles a month, and never on wet roads or in the rain.
With all that, I still have to wash my car about once, or twice a month to keep it looking showroom clean.
Assuming you do drive your 'vette, how do you get away with only 1 wash every 18 months? Please let me in on your secret.

Does everyone here live in insect-free zones? I always need to wash mine after any kind of substantial cruise just to get the bugs off the bumper, mirrors and windshield.

I cannot believe it's possible to keep a car showroom clean, even under the best of conditions, without a wash at least once a month.

No I don't drive in the rain.
Yes I drive it 3-4 times a week. With plenty of weekend road trips. Just went down to the Corning museum and Watkins Glen state park two weeks ago that was a 300 mile day trip.
I guess my "secret" is that I wipe my car and wheels down with detail spray and microfiber towels evey time I drive. Even if it's a few miles going to the park for a walk. On road trips car is wiped down completely every time we stop. My car is never driven dirty and always looks like this....
The cleaner you keep it, the easier it is to keep clean.

I try to wash mine as little as possible because my water is so hard that no matter what I do I end up with spots from the lime deposits.

Now I understand,... that's too OCD for me. To each his own I guess.
I'm sure I spend much less time, and effort, washing it once, or twice a month, than I would following your procedure. Especially with black. It's my favorite color, but after owning just one black car years ago, I never bought another, because I didn't want to make a career out of cleaning it. I go for silver now, because it is the easiest to keep clean, and doesn't show minor abrasions, and scratches.

mine is always dusty from the garage. it's a real pain in the a$$ every time the wife comes home and opens the other side to pull her car in. nrbm is a beautiful color, but almost as bad as black to keep clean.

thanks guys!!
over in CFOT, thr 4th Gen car is pretty much treated as the red-headed, bastard, step-child of the Corvette world.
I disagree whole-heartedly! I love my ZR-1...
Now, I really need to go wash my car.. make it look as good as Don-Vette's!

A rinseless or waterless wash is a better option for light cleaning needs !
