Default Got my Michelin PSSs and Phadt alignment

Just returned from the dealer after getting the Phadt street alignment. I put on the Pilot Super Sports 2 weeks ago. As I noted in a previous thread the GY RFs was at the wear bars at 8000 miles (fronts) with no track time or real aggressive driving. With the alignment it seems to roll a little easier, I never noticed it feeling bound up before but now it rolls freer and I didn't notice the kickback in the steering wheel on nasty expansion joints. The tires are sooooo much better than the GYs, much smoother, quieter and stickier. I'll bet I double or triple the mileage I got out of the Runcraps.

Sounds great. Did the dealership get close to the Pfadt numbers, especially concerning the toe? .03 or less total toe is a good thing.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "phadt alignment"?

And yes, based on my experience, you will get at least triple the mileage out of the Michelins. I had a set of Pilot Sport RF's on my '03 and got about 40K miles out of them. Had a set of non-RF Pilot Sports after that, and they still looked new when the car was totaled. Not sure how many miles, but it was around 25-30K. And they handle remarkably better than the Goodyears.

Phadt's street spec is commonly used and is real good. However for my GS I found the center of GMs GS (with xfa spec sheet) to be better. I have over 10k miles on my PSS and no abnormal wear.

Here's a link to the Pfadt alignment guide:

Pay special attention to the note at the top that says:

Negative toe measurements indicate toe-in

Virtually everybody else in the alignment industry uses "+" to indicate toe-in, so if you hand that alignment guide to an alignment shop make sure you highlight that note and point it out to the tech.

The shop tech he got it right on the Pfadt specs, I'll have to take his word on it. He said his alignment machine was showing red, meaning it was out of GM spec for the GS. Just came back from a run into town and it does seem to track better. The big difference is in the tires though.
