There are no "automatic adjusters" on disk brakes.

I agree with other posts about GM pads; I see very little dust with them.

Of course they do, they're disk brakes. There are no "automatic adjusters" on disk brakes like there used to be on drum brakes. There are no manual adjusters on disk brakes either.

There are no "adjusters" on disc brakes. They actually ride on the face of the rotor as opposed to retracting like the shoes do in drum brakes. So with wear on the disc brake pads, you can consider them "self adjusting" since they never retract to the original width of the brake pads. If you raise the wheel off the ground and spin it, you'll hear the pad dragging on the rotor.

I've been told they are not available for the GS/ZO6

Hmmm.. this may be true. I would try Hawk Ceramics or the Akebono Premium ceramics in that case. THe Akebono get great reviews but are pricey. Hawk makes great stuff, but I don't have any experience with their Ceramics directly. Such a shame. I can pickup four corners in the AC Delco Ceramics for my Z51 on Amazon for like $77...

I just don't worry about brake dust on the inside of the barrel. Keep the outsides clean and be happy. If you keep a sealant on the wheels it should take less than 2 minutes to wipe them all down during a wash.

Default you are a SICK MAN

cleaning the barrels
I have been using Rejex on the face of the wheels since I found out about it for a few years now and have always been able to just spray them down with the hose and dry them with towel & they come clean pretty easy, even after a day in the mountains.

Akebono Premium's about $140 to my door from RockAuto, I didn't think that was too bad....unlike Carbotech, over $500 for 4 corners. But in fairness to C/T, I believe they can be used for race applications. If I tracked my car I'd probably use the C/T's....

Yes I use (expensive) C/T pads for Track days.. XP-10 and XP-12.. They make a TON of noise and a BOAT LOAD of dust and are not indicated for street use, but they don't fade when brake temps go through the roof at the track.... Seems like the Akebono Premium's are the way to go for GS/ Z06 guys on the street looking for a low dust ceramic pad.

AC Delco Ceramics is not offered for GS/Z06
Akebono Premium is not offered for GS/Z06
Hawks Ceramics are only offered for Coupe, Convertible or ZR1 not GS/Z06.

What's the best option for GS/Z06 other than Carbothech???

Default Re-Best Solution Question

I changed My 427 Vert to premium ceramic padlets from Orielly Auto Parts. As I recall, the fronts were part # 1419 and the rears were 1419A. Both sets were around 100 bucks total. I can wipe the wheels inside and out with a dry microfiber after driving and get almost no brake dust. The replacement process was a snap. Also, virtually no squeaking. Orielly has both front and rear although I had to special order the rear set. Had everything within a couple of days. My understanding is that the pads are made by Bosch.
