I wouldn't buy a stick if you're going to be doing a lot of stop-n-go driving.

Go to your nearest Chevy Dealer and request to take a Camaro out for a test drive.

Learn on the test drive.

Come back buy a Vette.

If your girlfriends hot get the automatic if she`s ugly get the stick. If you got a stick it would only take you a few days to get comfortable with it. Good luck

Default Stick or Auto

Only one question, do you like your food pre-chewed? If you do a auto is for you, if you enjoy chewing your own food then you get the stick. A manual is far more involving than a a auto will ever be.

Funny you ask. I went to a place in 1991 where the salesman let me go drive out on my own. So, while I hung around "checking out the car" I gave him a "What are you gonna stand here all day until I drive out" look. He laughed and walked off and let me get comfortable. The hardest part is taking off in 1st gear. I learned in just about 20 minutes. I also stalled it 3 times at various lights too. But I came back and ordered a brand new car.

5 Speed.

Ask yourself this. If you were a dealership employee, would you let a 20 year old kid who may or may not be able to actually buy the car learn to drive stick on a vehicle that's yours? Let alone letting them drive the car at all, but letting them learn to drive stick on a car that costs $30k+, knowing fully well that if they break the car there's a damn good chance they'll never be able to recover the damages, and there's a very real possibility they'll lose their jobs?

Of course not.

If you want to learn stick, go spend a few thousand, buy a beater car with a stick, figure it out on that for a few months, then go in knowing how to drive stick.

Yes she will. They love hot cars too. And, if she doesn't know how to drive stick either, even better.
