Adding Dome Light
Hello All. I have noticed when driving my '06 Coupe at night, it can be pretty dark in the car when you are looking for something or trying to read a map, even when you turn on the rear view mirror lights. Its beyond me why GM didnt put a dome light on the arch behind the seats. I did a quick search and found this aftermarket solution, but honestly I don't think that looks very factory.
I was thinking if finding a dome light out of another mid-2000s GM car that would look factory in my car. Is the reason GM didn't include the light that it would be so far back behind the seats that it would be ineffective? If so maybe I could mount some brighter LED bulbs in the factory lamp. The real question is how hard would it be to wire this so I get full functionality out of it?
Any thoughts?

I ended up buying that light after LEDs in the mirror didn't cut it enough. You're right, it doesn't look factory but it completely illimimated all the dark spots in the cabin. Glad I got it.

I added a dome light purchased from a vendor on this site. About the size of a credit card just thicker. Has about 8 or 10 leds in it and boy what a difference. Probably took less than 30 min to install.
