Default Tail Light gaskets.

This is a question I have been meaning to ask for a long time. The tail lights on my 05 rattle because there isn't any type of gasket to seal and hold them in tight. I looked at my buddy's 09 and he has gaskets on his. Is this an early model issue or maybe an issue particular to mine only? Also, where can I get o rings or gaskets to make this issue go away? Thanks for your time.

There are no gaskets on the tail lights of '05's......make sure the torx screws are tight. I've never had any rattle from mine.

You can buy aftermarket tail lights seals (rubber) that would probably solve your problem.

People purchase these to stop the water drip when washing the car. Perhaps they will help reduce your rattle as well?

Without the seals they still shouldn't rattle. The seals were created to solve the dripping problem when you wash the car. I'd check to make sure they are tight and well seated.

are the mounting tabs on your tail lights broken? have never heard rattleing tail lights on any C6 I have been in.if you over torque the screws you will break the mounting tabs.

The screws are tight as I can make them without breaking anything, that's why I asked about gaskets. I have seen the O rings on line and will probably try them as soon as I am healed up from tomorrows back surgery.
Thanks

It's my understanding that no year C6 has gaskets from the factory... Anyone know if that's factual?

My easy fix for my the rattle: Cut a few strips of double sided tape & stick a few strips around the rim where the tail light goes...Works and cheap..

I purchased the seals for the taillights and will install once we get some warmer weather, also purchased the "Curb Alert" which will also be installed when the weather is better!
