2013 Corvette Owner Loyalty Rebate - what are the details?
I've searched via Google and on this board, but could find no specific details about the current $3,000 Corvette Owner Loyalty Rebate available on 2013 Corvettes.
ANY model year Corvette?
Specifically, what paperwork must I present the dealer at the time of purchase, in order to satisfy the General and the $3k rebate? I've read on one dealers website as little as an insurance document showing a Corvette on it, but that is easy to create and shoot, I can buy the insurance on the Corvette I'm going to buy before I even go down to the dealer, but something tells me that wouldn't work? Also, I believe a receipt for application of title from a state DMV would work as well, correct?
So the big question is, is a salvaged title acceptable? There are salvaged Corvette's rebuilt and put back on the road, so I'd hate the think the General would be that picky.
So what's stopping me from buying a junker at the local yard, applying for title, and using that for my Owner Loyalty Rebate? I've looked and can get a salvaged Vette with a clear title for a few hundred bucks.
For over half of my life I've grown up with Corvette's as my Dad has owned seven over his time, so I'm having a hard time leaving $3k from the General on the table for what would be my first Corvette buy.
Anybody know where can I find something printed from GM, so I would have it in writing and get no hassle at the dealer?

I seem to recall a couple of forum dealers saying they just need a copy of a valid, current registration of a Corvette with your name on it. They send that info to GM, and GM sends back an approval. Nobody needs to see your title. Send a PM to Mike Furman and he'll verify exactly what he would need.
The problem I see is that in my state (Ohio), you can't register a car with a salvage title until it has been repaired and judged road worthy by the state highway patrol. So if you bought a smashed up hulk from a salvage yard, you'd never be able to register it unless you fixed it. Maybe that's why GM wants to see a valid registration and not a title.
edit - It sure isn't clear when you search the web. I've seen the following text on some Chevy dealer websites...and I don't think this is correct...
Send a PM to Mike Furman and he will answer it so there is no confusion. He's closed a ton of deals from existing Corvette owners.

Corvette Owner Loyalty rebate only available to current Corvette owners. Customers must provide current title or registration to a Corvette to qualify for the Corvette owner loyalty rebate.

This month, I've purchased a new Grand Sport using corvette loyalty discount and customer rebate =$5000 discount.
I was required to send current corvette registration, proof of insurance and copy of driving license.

1. Loyalty Rebate: $3,000
2. Customer Rebate: $2,000
Or was that $2,000 just some cash the dealership discounted on the new GS as there own incentive to buy from them?

For those of us who can only afford 1 corvette, how do I get the Loyalty rebate when I would need to sell my current corvette to afford the new one? I guess the easy way would be to trade.

Simple. Get new plates when you buy the new Vette and use the old plate registration to show loyalty.

Yes...plus GM just came out with an additional $500 in the last week or so. So the total rebate amount is $5500 right now if you own a Corvette. Still not enough to get me into a showroom...but they are going in the right direction.

I sold my C6 2 years ago. I kept the plates and I still renew my registration yearly (it's only $45/year in Ohio). So I still have a current, valid Corvette registration...just in case.

$3,000 Corvette Loyalty Rebate Current Corvette owners may receive a $3,000 rebate toward the purchase or lease of a 2012 or 2013 Corvette. The current Corvette does not need to be traded in and the Corvette can be owned by anyone in the same household. Proof requires copy of the current vehicle registration, current title, statement or contract and/or proof of insurance.

You don't need proof of insurance. I ordered my 2013 GS convertible from Tommy Jr. last fall and just provided the registration on my 1966 roadster.
Don't know why a small sample of buyers were treated to a documentation snow storm.
