Why wouldn't I? It is completely paid for, it runs great, I enjoy driving it. Regardless of my opinion of the C7, there is NO WAY that given the state of the economy, and I believe its going to get worse before it gets better, that I would go out and buy a new C7. I could go out tomorrow and buy a brand new C7, with no trade, and pay cash. Affordability has nothing to do with me, its just that I have no reason to change. What really baffles me is all these folks over on the C7 forum that are getting these long term loans just to drive (I didn't say own) a new C7. Maybe its just me, but I don't understand their thinking. People should be making every effort to get out of debt, not take on more and get into a deeper hole of debt.

Well said, my feelings exactly right there. Love mine, it's paid for and drives nice, low 31,000 miles, and can't see spending the cost of what new C7 is going for.

Money aside, I am still having trouble warming up to the look of the C7. Honestly, I am trying . . . I am looking at photos all the time on the C7 forum. I have seen some color combinations that I think look ok but some I think look just horrible.

Today I saw some photos with stripes . . . they look much better. I'm gonna keep an eye on those.

I realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I realize thousands of people think the C7 looks incredible, I know its a great Corvette, I am not trying to offend any C7 owners, and I admit this is my opinion only . . . but I can't even find a C7 I would like to own yet, so I'll be keeping the C6 for a while.

I like my C6 and plan on keeping it. Should something come along that we
like, we can always change our minds.

C7's are nice. C6's are nice. Let's all be nice. My original post was intended for the C6 crowd. I don't know why the C7 owners keep coming around. I should have been more considerate.

I had no idea there was discussion like this AMONG CORVETTE BRETHREN until I joined this Forum 2 years ago. Oh well, now I know...

Just got my first one three weeks ago...a sweet 05 with low miles. The dealer told me it sat most of last year because the owner had Alzheimer's and was meticulous with the upkeep. They said it took him and hour and a half when he sold it back to the dealer to say goodbye to it but I discounted most of the tale as "dealer" speak.

Boy did I feel bad when I pulled out the owners manual from the glove box and his sticky notes were stuck to the cover with reminders...."put it in Reverse before turning it off"...etc.

Anyway....I just love it but even when I was searching for my best first Vette deal I knew in the back of my mind I would be doing this again in a few years but this time getting a C7. I love everything including the tail lights about the C7 but....I don't know if I'm going to be able to say goodbye to this 05 either...maybe it's the previous owner rubbing off on me but I really like it. I feel terrible that I have to store it soon!

Is this how it is when The Vette gets in your blood?

Congrats on the C6. If you are like me you'll also begin dreaming of the next one but you may have trouble thinking of letting go of the one (or ones) you already have.

if narrow body is an issue to you then i like the fact that the style and technology have it all over the c6, thats my opinion. more and more people are loving the c7 for both, plus the extra power over the c6. it's getting more attention than any other car on the road, for now.

I saw around ten C7's at the SEMA show this week and I will be keeping my C6. They are too busy for me. I like all the new tech features but I'm not real impressed with the overall look, especially the rear end.

Had my 05 C6 since March 06. She's my first and will not give her up. Ive put 106k+ on the clock and cant wait for another 106K. Ive spent just bout $2k in actual repair work, driven it up and down the California coast and across 4 states a few times. I would live to see most other cars on the road today do this. Needless to say, its staying for a long, long time.

vforrest -

That guy changed his oil every weekend.

Me and the wife saw 3 C7's today on the same stretch of hi-way.

Nope - not feeling it.

Note - my wife has never been part of any discussion
regarding C7's. I said 'there's the new C7 vette.' We were
following for a while and she said - unsolicited -
'that looks like a Camaro'

I think they used the vette to sell Camaros and I think they
jumped the shark and blew it.

Thanks for posting! I always get encouraged to hear some one putting 100k plus on their cars and still enjoying them. My '427' is my first vette and perhaps I'll change my past pattern and keep her more than 3years. I really love the 427, and I am amazed about 3 things in owing a Corvette;

1) Amazing performance and yet amazing mileage!
2) The insurance and maintenance is much lower than my european purchases.
3) They are so modifiable (like my Harley) and aftermarket parts are everywhere and stock parts are relatively inexpensive.
4) Most important, Corvettes, particularly past generations still look good!

Keep rollin!

Keeping our 2005 but the wife needs a new car. We have been seriously considering a C7 as the replacement. Unfortunately, the C7 has some teething issues that need to be resolved before we pull the trigger.

So it looks like it may be a late 14 or 15 depending on how quickly GM gets its quality control act together and/or produces enough so that there is a discount.

Btw for us older folk check out the article "Sans Pareil" in the Nov/Dec 2013 issue of America's Sports Car.
