grand sport tires don't balance
I bought a 2013 Grand Sport with 220 miles on it. It had a shimmy in the steering wheel above 70 MPH Had them "balanced" two different places and still have the shimmy.
I have 1700 miles now and show even wear across both tires.
Any chance of GoodYear making this right.
Ideas thoughts please

WELL, you can try either the dealership or a goodyear tire store. in your glovebox should be a small pamphlet by goodyear that says they stand behind their tires for X months. yours may qualify. I'd start w. the dealer but quickly move on from there since they'll want to balance your tire/wheel again and probably won't get it right. btw, did either of the two shops use a road force balancer and rotate the tire on the wheel(s) itself?

I agree with AO above. You got to pick a place with the Road Force - not all dealers have these and be super careful with the Goodyear dealers, not all can cope with Vettes and show care to those expensive rims. You may have either a bad tire or bent rim (more likely the tire wall is iffy).

I would think that they'd swap them out for free, but that's logic speaking, not experience. They SHOULD give you new ones.
Any chance it could be your wheels and not the tires? One of could be be out of round, and that would be a warranty item unless it's been bent by a pothole, etc.

I have the same issue. The tire store I had them balanced at said there was a delaminated belt. Called the Goodyear hotline. They were very helpful and told me to visit a Goodyear store to confirm. In the end, the bozos at two GY dealers said they couldn't find the problem and wanted to sell me four tires 'because they were down to 4/32nds of an inch.' I was there when they tried to rebalance the tire and it was visibly hopping on the machine. "No soap" said GY because I couldn't get a confirmation from their dealers. Meh.
Nonetheless, this may be your problem.

7700 miles, low speed thump, one tire had a high spot, the other a flat spot. Called GY, opened a claim, had the GY rep talk to the tire shop mgr. two mins. Later, two new tires for $102 each. Not happy I had to spend money for faulty tires but it could be worse. GOODYEAR is producing poor quality tires and they know it.

Others have had the same problem, myself included on my '11 GS. Road force balance got them good, but it wasn't until I took the brake rotors off and had them balanced that I got them perfect. The dealer will work with you to get it right, but the rotors are an overlooked part of the equation. Mine were 'off' ~ .5 oz each.

Grandsport tires certainly do balance. I'm not sure if you have the runflats or other tires, but my Invos balance with no problems.

In addition to need for road force balancing, wheel(s) being out of round, and a rotor(s) being out of round, one or more of the tires could be out of round. I've had that happen with GY's as well.

Just when thru this also 2013 GS 1700 miles and 3 times and they replaced 1 front tire out of spec. There is a TSB on this problem but I do not have the number. My car is 100 times better but they is still some vibration.

Had the same problem with an 11 GS with the generation 2 tire that came on the 6 speed manual car. Pulled the front tires and wheels and put another set of wheels and tires from another Vette but not the Gen 2 tires. Problem went away so we knew it was not the car but either the tires or the wheels. Road force balanced the original Gen 2 tires and wheels but still had the problem. Took it to Discount Tire and they tried to fix the problem on the 11GS with 576 miles but no luck. Store manager called GY rep and explained the problem. GY after hearing the problem asked for the mileage and serial numbers on the tires. They bought all four Gen 2 tires back that came on the 11 GS and gave me that amount as a credit to buy new michelins or any other tire brand. Bought Michelin PS2s. Problem solved and no further problems. My hats off to GY for stepping up to the plate. Never really found out what the problem was but I suspect that at 70mph and above that the tread pattern was setting up a harmonic which was causing the vibration. The PS2s were so good on the 11 GS that I purchased another set for an 03 C5 and they changed the whole dynamic of the car for the better. Find a good tire shop and let the manager speak to his GY tire representative to see what can be done. GY treated me more than fair once they knew the details of the problem and you can't ask for more than that especially in today's world of "it's the other guy's fault." Good luck!

a dealer really should be able to fix it.
try a goodyear store but those tires suck.
try Bstone or Mich on your next set.
MAKE SURE THE WHEELS ARE HAND TORQUED TO 100 lbs.
