IMO going 180 mph. on a public road is a death wish.

Hey I'm no saint,I bumped 138 for a second or two on rt.18 along Lake Ontario, one time.

Why not try the Silver State Classic Challenge? I have run this many times and the operators keep it very safe. Google it.

Plenty of Vettes at this event. You can boogie for a long way.

Maybe 160 at the most...

You don't have to rent Daytona or Talledagea for a day. But you can drive your car on both those tracks. I've run several times at Talladega for $150. You can also run at Daytona for ~$450 at a performance driving event. http://performancedrivinggroup.com/p...onal-speedway/

I ran 162+ MPH at Talladega in my stock Z06 and BEZ06 has run several times at Daytona in his Z06. 165 MPH on stock tires, and 175 MPH with Hoosiers.

At Talladega I doubt that you will exceed 150 MPH by much in a stock GS and maybe a little faster at Daytona. With a manual transmission, the GS is maxed out at 6500 RPM at 150 MPH in fourth gear, and it's difficult to accelerate much in fifth gear without a really long straightaway.

I have a hard time believing this. Stock C6's go high 150's in the standing mile. another .5 is not enough room to gain another 30+ mph.

Assuming he does get to attempt to go all out somewhere, what is your advice should he start to feel that "floating" sensation in the front end?

Right. 161/162 to 192 is a massive difference. You're not going to gain 30mph at those speeds in another half mile. There's math in here somewhere lol
