Only 2 parts from C-6 are on the C-7

The battery (with a little corrosion on it) is now located in the rear hatch on passenger side. Less room in back also. Reminds me of a 240Z styling with the rear and side glass nothing bad about that but that blind spot is bad. Less glass=less weight as well as carbon fiber top and hood.

They had to give the C7 folks something to gripe about. I mean we all know how issue free the C7 is supposed to be according to all the hype out of the motor city .................

Mine would not go back in without hanging and wadding up. It's a flimsy filter and there is no arrow showing which way the air flows.

Actually, with the initial install of the replacement filter it doesn't really matter. Only if you remove it as I do after about 5k miles to tap it out and re install. So, I use a marker to draw an arrow pointing down to indicate air flow. That way I don't suck garbage into the system by installing it wrong side up when I put it back in.

Yep.
The first item came to my mine was: wheel lug studs, then maybe the lug nuts. Like you say, I bet many more items could also be found, what about nuts and bolts, cigcaret lighter, etc., there is more BS on this car than Tadge can see? Somebody did a number on him and he bit for it, I bet!

The crappy key fobs are still the same, and will still break the tabs that hold them together if you try to change the batteries in them and GM will still refuse to cover them under the warranty and blame it on the customer.

I am not sure what the reason for that article was. I have already run across several of the items that are the same, including some of the engine caps. And like someone else said, nuts, bolts, etc. There are probably hundreds of carry over parts.

Probably to counter the C6.5 BS that the Corvette detractors were gleefully spouting before the full disclosure of the significant technological advancements incorporated into the C7.

They carried over some C2 & C3 ideas.

"There are only two carryover parts from the C6 used in the C7 — the cabin air filter and the rear latch for the removable roof panel," said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer.
Anything like wheel studs and oil caps, etc, are also used on many, many other GM cars, including the C6.
In other words, to paraphrase, "There are only two carryover parts [that were designed exclusively for] the C6 used in the C7 ..."
