Car #2408 being sold on Cars.com. Maybe some of you guys have seen this before. It was new to me and someone put some effort in on this piece. Be curious how it attaches at the rear. There were no top down pics. Apologize for the three post to get the pics up but using an Idevice which seems to be limited to one pic/post. There are more pics on the site.

It's not cheap, $63,7k and a low mileage car. To someone who prefers a hardtop some of the time it offers a nice option. Similar to mid year and early C3 cars. Maybe not the most attractive but serves a purpose. All assuming it's a nice quality piece. Interesting to see none the less.

There have to be holes in the deck lid or some noticable way to attach that roof. And no matter how nice it is, that price is too high.

There are no holes or brackets in the rear deck lid. The top installs to the front latch, just like the convertible top, and then to two small brackets that get installed in the convertible top bow pivot points. These two brackets are hidden by the stock, spring-loaded, plastic door. The hardtop's rear latches go down and attaches to the brackets when in use. Now, it's not a fast install -- nothing like just running the top up and down -- but it is fairly neat and tidy.
Here's how the Smooth Line tops get installed on a C5: http://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/285583...38e70cf4c0.pdf
Edit: asking price is a little high, I agree.

Exactly How I Wanted It
My 427 is exactly what I was looking for and checks all the boxes on my list. #2373 Night Race Blue with Blue top built 2/13 appointed with 1SC Package featuring Dark Titanium Combination Interior. Also included are the 427 Heritage Package, Carbon Fiber Package, and ZR1 Chrome Aluminum Wheels. As a “One Year” production Corvette it’s exclusivity is exactly the reason it appealed to me. As a member of our local Corvette Club of 100 plus members there are only two Corvette 427’s represented. #427PROUD

I love the chromes on the blue. When I bought my 60th, the blue with chromes would have been my next choice, even though I was trading a black C5 and didn't really want another dark car. It was just the best looking C6 (next to mine). Beautiful car 427FlyBye.

Just an observation based on my personal experience. I recently checked out a Corvette dealership which had 12 new Vettes on the showroom floor. 11 of the 12 had black or dark gunmetal wheels. The salesperson said only older people like the chrome and the younger buyers like the darker rims. Check out a recent thread on here “Show me your rims I’ll tell you your age” Seemingly the dark wheel preference trend is still the predominant choice of the younger and older buyer alike. I’ve personally had many variations of dark, aluminum and chrome as well. I say to each his or her own. I equip my ride to suit my own personal preference based mostly on the color of the car. Sadly some people go as far as to insult others based on their own opinions or personal preferences. Im sorry I got off topic here. After visiting a few threads and seeing people get slammed for their own personal choice of everything from transmission preferences, whether or not they drive their cars in the rain, hardtop vs convertible and the list goes on and on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about hearing why you like what you like but just not a fan of seeing someone telling others that the preference they hold has no valid reason. Precisely why I appreciated and thanked the earlier posting member for the compliment about the wheels.

Thanks
When I heard about the one year offering of the 427 as a fitting send off of the C6 era I New I had to have one. The ability to do as you did and get a 60th Anniversary/427 combination was quite enticing. The first one I sat in was a fully appointed 60th, then after that a black one with 1SC and red stitching. However, many years ago when I was 19 I had a Stellar Blue 75 TransAm because I couldn’t afford a Vette at the time. The blue on that vehicle was very much like Night Race Blue. That car and color got into my blood back then and with 2013 being the introductory year for NRB, well the rest is history. In the 2013 model year brochure on the page introducing the 427 there’s two cars pictured in the ad... the White 60th Anniversary and the Night Race Blue Heritage Package. Looks like we both know how to pick them!
