I wonder why the press always makes a point of stating that the car involved was a Corvette, when other high speed chases they simply say a car, truck or van but you almost never see then make or model called out.

Corvettes are recognizable. Nobody knows wtf a Toyota Avalon is.

Because that way it sensationalizes the story and it allows people pass further judgements on the people who drive a certain type of vehicle that is very polarizing. Can't you just hear tons of people saying, "See those Corvette drivers are all a bunch of no good hooligans".

Although I would never say that anyone really deserves to die in a situation like this, I guess I would rather it be someone who already mowed over an innocent bystander than an old veteran for no known reason.

This kid was a bad apple, with his previous accident and cops finding a note (suicide by cop or looking for a brick-wall to end it) home problems or drugs/alcohol be interesting to see when the toxicology reports are released, as well as a statement the parents might make.

Feel absolutely horrible for the father he already killed and the daughter he already injured, but its a little difficult for me to celebrate that a sick, suicidal 17 year old kid is now dead too. A real tragedy here on many, many levels.
