New to the forum and new to Corvettes. My wife & I just bought our 1st Corvette. It's a 2007 silver, convertible with 3LT and Z51. It's in pristine condition with only 10.6K miles. I did compromise and we got an automatic w/ paddle shifters so my wife can drive......happy wife, happy life....lol. I did a lot of poking around the forum to understand my car and and its issues before buying. Very helpful info here. My background has been restoring British cars and crossed over to a Porsche 944 S2 cabrio 2 years ago. I wanted an "upgrade" and fell in love with the C6's. Love the car, features, and styling. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions moving forward. Looking forward to the summer driving season in Central PA.
Welcome Scuba! Enjoy your new vert. You'll be glad she can drive it too, really glad. My wife and I have the same car in black 08 version. It has definitely brought us closer together, and continues to do so. These cars are awesome for sure.
Geez CheckSix...I'm in love with your Vette. Goshalmighty.
wow! thanks!
it's one of those bipolar response type Vette's. People either really like it or they don't like it at all. AND, it's one of those lowly thought of GS's too!
Congrats on joining the corvette family and you will find that the automatic was not a compromise, in fact 85% of vette converts bought in the last 3 generations have been automatics. The automatics are actually quicker and require far less maintenance expense.
I have owned 25 vettes and been driving them since I was 17 and the last time I bought a manual trans vette was a brand new 68 convert in the fall of 1967.
