Default What's the best way to remove the chrome cap on lug nuts
I bought a decent set of lug nuts. I want to use the originals for track days. What's the easiest way to remove the chrome cap from the lugs? Tkx.

What type of cap is over your lug nuts?

Probably just grab them with channel locks and wiggle. (For all that do not know it the lugs are covered with a chrome cap.)

I think the cap is stainless. And removing the cap will make the hex size slightly smaller.

Just go with simple open end lugnuts at the track. I bought a set of 24, just in case I lose one or two, for $15.44 shipped.
