to all my pa. forum brothers i hate to be the messenger of bad news. i heard from a friend of mine that pa. will become a two plate state in two years or less. and wouldn't you know that its all about "money." we have such a corrupt government and they just get more and more greedy. i refuse to put a bracket of any kind on the front of my car for anyone. any comments?

NV is a 2 plate state and I've been driving here for 10 years with no front plate. Never been bothered. You'll have to wait and see how strict they are enforcing it.
There is a vendor - the name escapes me - that makes a clear flush cover for the C5 front fascia license plate area. While it comes clear, there are a few owners that paint the shroud area around it so just the "beef" of the plate is visible. It looks pretty good. Since it flush mounts both literally and in style, it retains all the correct proportions of the standard cover, and you don't deal with brackets or odd-looking items up front.
You may check with the state laws that will be enacted and see if this is an option. It'll sure beat not having one and then receiving a citation for no front plate.

In Maine they do stop you if the plate is missing and you have to display the front plate in the proper place in order for you to get a State Inspection Sticker (not in the car under the seat, etc)
I put my front plate on, I don't need to help balance the state or town's budgets! I think it's a $150 fine!
If Penn becomes a 2 plate state, are the previous years grandfathered?

I know many don't like the front plate and for years I didn't either. But I'm not going to give them ANY excuse to stop me. Plus I'm sick of always wondering if they notice when I drive by. Taking a different way in case they notice, etc etc.
Not worth it to me anymore. I just want to have a nice ride!
If I get aggressive and get stopped AND they know it was me but can't prove it, they have the fall back of no front plate just to get me on something!

I completely agree. Our cars look like nothing else on the road and are already a target. Check out Top Flight Reproductions for an excellent option for your C6 front plate bracket needs if you so choose. I have one on my 2010 GS and it looks like a factory installation.
