Please Show Me Where You Mounted Your Back Up Cameras...

Burning Brakes
I am still working on my system. I have my screen on the sun visor and have some of the wires ran. I still need to see what I need to fab to attach the camera too. It will be low between the mufflers. I will be using the camera just to keep from backing the exhaust tips into the concrete curbs. I dont like the look of cameras on the rear plate.
Maybe someone will show off their camera mod.

I got this camera from the place that used to only sell books. It isn't noticable at all & it also swivels up/down to adjust where you want to aim it.
I had to open up the hole shown just a bit with a die grinder to get the camera mounted. It fits great & is very secure with no movement. If I ever sell the car & remove the parts, nobody would ever notice the slight mod to mount the camera.
I also mounted a front one behind the grille if you're thinking about that (different type but pics available if you want.). The display is like the one 'LV2TOUR' mounted in his visor except I used a 5" one. Front cam is triggered by the frt. fog lamps & rear from the reverse lights. (Thanks for all the help & guidance Paul!!).

I used a "plate mount" cam for the front & modified it to fit behind the grill opening. Cut & drilled the bracket to fit on 2 of the grill's top mounting holes & bent the camera around to aim it thru the opening.

Thank you!
Here are a couple of the links to part of Paul's setup (2nd one has his .pdf instructions for the visor mount):

My opinion..........this is one area Corvette dropped the ball big time. Back up cameras should have been an option for years! $90K and no back up camera in the Vette, but $53 K for the Cadillac with the camera. Kind of like apples and oranges I know, but you get my point.

It made a difference where I plugged the cameras into the display inputs too. The display seemed to be programmed to give precedence to the rear camera depending on which RCA input I plugged it into. (example: front fogs ON & car in reverse, you would want the rear camera to display even though the front camera would technically be on with the fogs.) I forget which one I plugged it into (yellow or white). When I get home I'll look at my notes & let you know.

I've been doing this for a long time with no issues. If it is illegal, the cops don't seem to care as long as they can read it and it doesn't confuse what the tag says.
To me, it looks much better than something hanging down and it's not as noticeable for someone to steal.
