Yes, pop the shifter console, remove the two dash screws on both sides of the unit, pop the unit out, unplug the harness to it to remove it from the car.
On a solder bench, pull the unit apart and re-solder the board connections so you resolve the cold solder joints that is causing faulty connections/unit to flash.

Although a C5, it will give you an idea of what you are looking for, and what needs to be re-soldered to solve the cold solder joint problems on the C6 unit.
Short version, you just want to go through and re-solder all the connects on the board, with takes only a few mins to touch off on all the connection joints one at a time.

The A/C unit and Nav units are separate. They are not connected in any way.
You can replace the A/C control unit by removing the radio surround console. The same console has to be removed to replace the Nav screen.
There are many sources for the DIY, so I made one of them into a PDF
and attached it to this post.
