After sitting 6hrs at the stealership they diagnosed my service antilock brakes, traction control, active handling lights to the abs module and they want $680 dollars to fix it. I looked the part up at rock auto and its only 289. Is this a part I can change myself. I have looked and access isn't great. Do I change just the module and if I take the module loose is brake fluid going to run out? Will I have to take it to the dealer to have it reset? Any help appreciated. Thanks
It's not hard, but the hard lines are easy to cross thread. Further, you need to find out if the electronics are separate from the hydraulic unit, and if it needs to be programmed after installation.
If it makes you feel any better, all those lights were on and it was the EBCM and was $1400.00 in my car... Both parts are common for GM vehicles, not just Vettes....
Still need help... does anyone know if I can separate the electronic part/plastic from the abs pump without fluid leaking out and do I have to get it programed by the dealer.

Yes, you can separate the two modules without leaking fluid unless there is a leak in the BPMV that is getting between the two modules.
Of course you would probably have to change both modules.
What year is your car? 05-08 had variations of the Delphi EBCM but when the 09s came around they went with a Bosch unit. The Bosch unit is a lot cheaper than the Delphi but the two parts are not interchangeable. Best price for GM Parts can be found at GM Parts House a forum vendor (call them as the web page doesn't cover every part).
A lot of times the modules are not common to other GM vehicles so don't fall into that trap. Make sure you know what you are getting. If you do the repair yourself the new unit will have to be programmed by the dealer.
One thing you will get with the dealer repair is a 12mo/12K warranty on the repair.
I'm a complete noob but I was able to get my ABS module on my 01 GMC truck repaired for $165. Check out ModuleMaster in Moscow, Idaho. Very quick turn around time, too.
