looking at picking up a C6
hey all, ive been driving fords and chevys and my last vette was 3 years ago, had a 79 vette and enjoyed it. now im looking at trading my 14 5.0 premium for a 2005 C6 that is priced right enough for me pick it up and be paying less than i am a month for my stang and still have mod moeny left over., 34k miles on it and its stock. it appears to be a basic coupe and its the auto, ( i prefer the auto its more consistent, and its fun with a stall). my question is how do these 05 vettes stack up? ive had a few ls1 cars and im used to working in the LS platform, and if i were to pick up this car my plans would be aimed at a nice roots blower setup. i do a decent amount of roll racing and on weekends strip racing. this would be my dd btw. also what rear gear ratio did the 05 auto come with? i thought it was 3.15 but the dealer has it listed as 3.42 or something.

If HP is your goal, I would agree with others to look at later years. The 05 differential was a weak point. I own one and have had no issues but I don't race it either. Good luck.

The '05 is a solid car, but you do understand that you will lose your **** on the Mustang. Trading a '14 anything this soon is always going to be a negative situation. With that being said, good luck on your decision. It's ultimately your deal, and you have to do what will put a big smile on your face. Life is short.
