I had the old Borla Stingers on my 2005 manual transmission. Now I have a 2012 automatic and thinking of getting the Borla Stingers 2. Is it true, there is NO drone on the Stingers 2? Thanks.

FWIW I have the Borla Type II (with CAI & Headers), no drone at all in my A6

I have the Borla Type S - 2 ... Header package ... No drone - Definetly go for it ...

Borla stingers here. Ls3 a6. Kook headers no cats. Drone is horrible at 70mph. Now with the cam, it's even worse.

So I go 75 now!

Also, one of the best sounding exhausts from outside the car! Old carb muscle car sound.

You'll have drone with any exhaust where the offroad is on! I've had it it and hated it...always hunting for a gear to reduce it.

That's what I am afraid of, with a6 you can't shift out of the drone. When I had a m6, I shifted out of it.

I have an 08, ls3 with lg pros and older stinger system for a z06 and there is drone! I haven't had much seat time due to deployment but fwiw, its sounds amazing! Intimidating to most!

Don't worry about shifting out of it... I have Auto also... Not really that bad and I'm very picky... You WILL notice exhaust can be stupid loud on WOT... Which I still don't mind... Header package maybe enhances that a bit more... Car sounds insane so I like it...

If your staying stock, you won"t have now drone problems at all.Add headers and cam, they do get louder, but still quiet on cruise control. I'm talking the new type 2 sports, not the old stingers.

A fellow just recently was asking about Borlas and decided to call and talk with a tech. Took him thru a half hour conversation and he became satisfied that he was making the right purchase. I'd ask Borla. They've been making a big effort w. their newer products and it is a toll free.

My wife has an 05 A4 with original Borla Stingers and it definitely has drone. It doesn't bother her a bit. I have a 12 vert A6 with Borla Type II Stingers and it has absolutely no drone but a great sound. My 2 cents.
