Default Will C7(nonZ51)wheels and TPM fit/work on C6

I have a 2005 C6 convertible which needs new tires. I have found a set of Michelin takeoffs from a stock C7 complete with 5 spoke chrome wheels and TPMs.
Question #1: Will the chrome C7 wheels fit my stock (non Z51) 2005 C6?

Question #2: Will the C7 TPMs communicate with my C6's computer?

I currently have aftermarket ZO6 replica wheels on my C6 which I will mount the new tires on if nothing else fits/works.
If that is the case, I will sell the C7 chrome wheels and the C7 TPMs.

I definitely need to replace my original TPMs as I know that the batteries are going bad so I was hoping the C7 TPMs would work.

Good luck, because I'll bet you'll get opinions, but no one will know for sure.

I'll find out on Friday after I pick up the tires/wheels if no one offers a definitive answer.
If they fit, GREAT, if not, no big deal, I'll just sell what I can't use.

Have either you or irok actually tried putting a C7 wheel on a C6?

I am hoping the wheels and the TPMs will work but if it does not work I'll just sell the items I can't use.

Thanks for your responses.

I'm still waiting for an answer about the C7 TPMs: Will they work on a C6?

Take a look at the new rims from one of our vendors here. The c7 and c6 rims are identical in offsets and he is selling them both. I think they are called brickyard lightweight rims from cray. I realize you are using stock gm rims but I've asked the corvette tech and he too says yes that the wheels and tires will work.

I will speak with him tomorrow night as we do the corvette mechanic podcast and I will ask him about the sensors for you.

I tend to think the sensors won't work but you never know till you ask....

I was planning on the 19/20 z51 setup for my 2008 z51 18/19 s till I came upon a nice set of polished gumbys with tires and sensors myself last august....(at a price so low I couldn't pass it up) I had asked my world class gm tech about the c7 rims and he told me it would work fine.

Yes the wheels will fit, they are currently mounted on my 2005 C6. I do not know if the TPMS will work yet since my TPMS tool wasn't working when I mountedd them Saturday. However I plan on getting them programmed tomorrow when I have it aligned. I was surprised how good they look since I really didn't like the base wheels on the C7. The edgy look of the C7 wheels are a nice contrast to the roundness of the C6.

The sensors will not work with 2005. They are 2 different TPMS for the C6 alone. I believe the change was made in 2010.

Any pics of the replica wheels you have? I might be interested in them when your ready. Also, Are these the Z06 replicas for the wide body conversions or the base C6 narrow body?

Batteries are replaceable. No need to replace them completely

Since it appears from comments from needcheese that the TPMs in the C7 wheels won't work on my 2005 C6, I'll just run the C7 wheels for a while if I have to drive my C6 before I get the new batteries for my old sensors and install them and then I'll remove the C7 sensors and put my original sensors into the C7 wheels or if I don't like the C7 chromes on my car I'll just sell the C7 wheels and the C7 TPMs.

Papageorge2- My ZO6 wheels came from Mid-America and are the chrome Z06 ones for a stock Corvette. My car is a convertible with no wide body stuff. They are in decent shape but two of them do have minor scuff marks from slight curb scrapes on a small area. These are blemishes you notice when washing or waxing the wheel but they don't reach out at you if just looking at the car or walking by it.
At this point I am not sure I will want to sell them but if I decide to sell them I can email some photos to you.

Hi Brett,

Can you post some photos of your 2005 with the C7 wheels?

Not sure that changing the battery is as easy as some may think

Pulled over and snapped this one with my phone. Not the best quality but you can at least get an idea of what they look like.

The C7 sensors do not work on the 2005, however my old wheels and tires are stored in the garage near where I park. This means that it picks up the old sensors and prevents any warnings as long as my trips are less than roughly 100 miles. I know that it will not warn me of a low tire while driving I just have not pulled the old ones out yet. I have one set of base Z51 2005 wheels and tires and a set of polished 2005 Z51 wheels and tires complete in storage.
