Default Show us your C6 interior!

Okay guys, it's been a while since I've seen a thread on this, so let's see 'em! I realize that by opening the thread I must show mine but it's nothing to get excited about. I've just made a few conservative touches to my 2008 coupe:

- Red stitched leather shift boot and shift ****
- Red stitched leather e-brake boot
- OEM 2012 steering wheel with red stitching
- OEM leather cashmere console with Corvette logo
- Replaced radio bezel using matte black bezel from a 2013 Z06
- Used ZIG fabric pen to paint stitching around radio bezel red. Worked like a charm and has held up beautifully.
- WeatherTech floor mats. Yeah, some consider them unsightly, but it's great having zero worries...
- (Not visible) Driver seat foam repair kit
- PLANNED: A quality touchscreen unit. I'm open to suggestions.

That's it! It's nowhere near as sophisticated as most setups, but I'm happy with it...

Did the Zig red fabric pen do a good job, does it look correct with the red stitching on the steering wheel and the other items? Would it give good results on the steering wheel and shifter?

Held side-by-side out of the car, the red is of course not a 100% match between ANY of the different aftermarket components that I purchased separately. Installed on the car, though, it really looks great, IMHO.

The fabric pen is such a cost-effective idea that lots of folks have done it with great results. It does NOT look like you went at it with a Sharpie.

I'll try and snap a better photo for you later... it's the kid's first day of school so my wife took the good camera.

I'd appreciate whatever you can provide. My GS is torch red/ebony and I'm about to order the ebony w/red stitching steering wheel, shift ****, shifter boot and hand brake w/boot. I already have the GM accessory GS console lid and Lloyd's "Corvette Racing" (sideways positioned small print & crossed flags) floor mats. I want to introduce some color into the interior but in an OEM manner. Accordingly, your experiences are very relevant. Thanks in advance.

Okay so this is taken again with my phone camera again but I think it is a pretty good representation of how the ZIG color stands up when compared to other stitched products.

Your first instinct may be to compare the ZIG stitching to the shift boot, but I wouldn't recommend it: the shift boot was bought aftermarket through "a large auction website" and it is a little too "candy red" for my tastes.

The better comparison would to the red on the steering wheel and shift **** itself, which are both OEM products. As you can see, THAT red is much closer.

In short, I highly recommend this mod if you want to quickly and easily do red stitching on the bezel. It'll take you three bucks and an hour of careful work. I looked into buying a ready-made bezel and getting it re-stitched and the prices just wasn't warranted. The good news is if you hate the ZIG, you can always go those routes... but I'm pretty certain you won't.

I still have them (rubber mats)...use them in the fall and winter months. The cashmere floor mats with C6 logo only get used for shows...they do make the interior "pop" more.

Thanks for your comments...

You're welcome! I just realized upon closer inspection of the photo that the ink looks smeared on the underlying leather... it's not. (I suppose that's what I get for using a phone camera.)

If you're just careful and let the stitching wick up the dye there's no reason to get ink stains anywhere. Just be patient. Whenever I started feeling myself get rushed I would take a small break and then get back to it.

If you do this, be sure to post "before and after" pictures! Good luck!
