I apologize if this is a duplicate but 3 times as many C7s were sold than C6s were their first year.
Will C6 prices be tanking soon ?

um...c6's sold about 37300 in it's first year.
Not at all impressive in the grand scheme of things since just about every first year new gen does well.Talk to me in 4 or 5 years when this thing has been out for a while and see what the numbers are. That will be the tale of the tape....why everybody gets so excited over this is beyond me.It's a new VETTE after 100 years of the generation before it..and they sold about 100 less then they did c6's in the first year!
with only 2005 (37,372) and 2007 (40,561)

Question is this:
What difference does it really make?
Enjoy the car you drive! They are not investments! They ARE going to depreciate!
Sheesh!

I'm also curious about the C7's long-term popularity in 3-5 years. The C6 styling is conservative and traditional, and in many ways timeless. The trendy styling of the C7 may age as quickly as a 50's car unless GM occasionally updates it during its run.

The 1984 first year C4 was a major change year also and sold 51,547 units, now that is impressive. I would think that GM is happy they sold that many first year C7's but I doubt their bean counters are high fiving each other quite yet.
I have owned 25 vettes that spanned all of the first 6 generations that included 4 first year vettes and been driving them since I was 17 but still after seeing the C7 for over a year I still have no desire to actually own one. In Tucson I see a lot of corvettes every time I go anywhere but to date I have only seen 3 coupes and 1 convert on the road.
