How many of you have a bike as well as your Vette?
Thinking about getting another bike . . . just not sure how we would decide what to drive/ride
Share you pic's.
Thanks!

Had six...but when it came to riding or properly maintaining them, riding won out. In the last couple years I've sold four of them, keeping the two I liked the best. Sold a 99 Ducati 999, a Triumph 955i Triple, a Suzuki SV650 and an 82 Honda CBX. I now have a 79 CBX six, six carbs, 24 valves...and an 06 Hayabusa LE, the last LE of the Gen 1 Hayabusas. The 82 X had 102,000+ miles on it and was my main touring bike. The Hayabusa is now my only touring mount and the bike I ride when I want to see 175+ in a flash! I've had the 79 up to Montana once and often ride it to Oregon or over the Sierras but it's mostly a weekender that sees a lot of the Pacific Coast highway.

I have multiple afflictions: fiancée, on my 8th vet (07 vert) and two Harley. Don't pity, me learn from my mistakes, keep your sanity and money by limiting it just two of the three. Really doesn't matter which three they'll all break your heart and bank account at some point in the relationship.

I'm kinda surprised at how many Harley owners there are here considering they have the worst dollar per horsepower ratio possible. 20K+ to 30K+ for less than a hundred ponies. I'll admit they are the majority bike out on the road near and far and they look good and sound good but I just couldn't pay what they get for them w/o even a hundred ponies at the wheel, not to mention the 2-3" of suspension travel and very poor cornering clearance.

I'm not a motorcycle guy, but I think with most Harley guys it's a lot to do with the Harley culture/attitude....not so much performance and handling. I think it's more about the chrome, being loud and the bad *** mentality that goes along with rolling a Harley...if you want to really carve a canyon you don't buy a Harley, you buy a a light weight sport bike like a Honda CBR or Ducati...just my thoughts, I'm sure the bike guys will chime in.
You are right; Harleys (and Indians) are not about performance, they have their own mystique that has nothing to do with speed or handling. They're in a class by themselves and none of the rice burner copies can touch it. However, some of us do soup up our Harleys. Nobody even bothers racing the ricers -- we all know how fast they are and we don't care. But racing OTHER Harleys was fun.
Yeah there are the "tough guys" out there but not that many (I was never one of them). Most of the guys you see on them now are only weekend tough guys. They have the full "Harley uniform" and go out every weekend barhopping. But from what I've seen they are only in it for the image; the vast majority of them couldn't fix a broken clutch cable let alone rip the engine or tranny apart. I've never hired anybody to work on any cars or bikes I ever had. (But this C6 Vette scares the crap out of me. Too much electronic stuff.)
So I bought a used Sportster when I was in my mid-thirties, rode it a couple of years then bought the '88 Softail new in my post above. I've had a ton of fun on it, but the two-wheeled era of my life is over.
I'll take the coupe (with the top on so there's no wind blowing on me) auto trans, climate control, Bose, etc.
