Need help deciding quickly! Rebuilt title Z06 or Z51 with 11k miles! help decide!
I recently sold my 454 a few months before Carlisle. Carlisle had a pitiful amount of cars for sale due to bad weather and another corvette meet up. Ive been looking on ebay, craigslist, this forum, autotrader, everywhere each day for the past 5 months. I am looking for deal since its the end of the season and the C7's are out.
I found 3 potential deals I need to make a decision on by Sat. Please let me decide. I need to factor in current cost, future value, and generally what I want.
1st: a 2007 Z06 with 45k miles. Rebuilt title. Black with 3ZL and navigation. Still needs work, but less than $700. Has some mods as well
Price is firm at $24.5k
2nd: 2005 Z51 with 11k miles, clean title. Silver with grey Z51 wheels. 3LT with Navigation, not a single scratch, intake and exhaust mods included. $24k Firm
3rd: 2001 Z06, 35k miles, rebuilt title. Needs nothing, black
$14.25k Firm
All these appeal to me and I would have fun and enjoy all. The rebuilt titles scare me though, plus resell will be a lot less. However, I could get into a Z for cheap on both ends.
The Z51 is the more reasonable choice, but Ive always wanted a Z06.
After buying some other things for the family I am now unable to purchase anything over 30k. So most Z's are out of the question.
Help me decide which one you guys would choose if you had about 30k total to spend on a car, thats Including tax, title, travel, registration. so basically the car needs to be under 27k.

out of those three I would go with the 2nd choice. practically a brand new c6 with all of the good options.
I do not dabble with rebuilt titles myself. that is an immediate "not worth the gamble" thing to me.

rebuilt Z is a waste of money. o trade value.
01 Z doesn't sound bad but you gotta watch for the #2 ring flutter in the 01's that cause oil seepage. The 05 Z51 gives you all the performance of a c5 Z,more P then the 01 nd you can take the top off.You should be aware of the DBS ISSUES 05 manual cars had AS well as the harmonic balancer that is still an issue on new vettes and the slightly weaker rear ends. Overall though the 05 is a good car.

That's a easy choice the 05 Z51 of course from what you posted that's the one because you never know what your getting in a rebuilt motor that you didn't rebuild your self or know the person who built it but sounds like you are stuck on a Z06

Im starting to lean towards the Z51, but im still stuck on a Z06 for that price. thats why I need people to help guide me because maybe im blinded by the grand picture.

On a rebuilt title, I would have to know exactly what was damaged, what was replaced and how it was done. A damaged high performance car with a salvage title would scare me.

Frame damage? What about the valve guides? I love a wide body but the C6Z is a question mark.
The C5Z has potential but they ride hard and have limited cargo room so not much of a touring car if you take trips.
If you plan on dumping a bunch of money into any of these cars to make it right for you be sure to factor that into the price too.
If you really want a C6Z maybe you should hold out for a clean one.

Thank you all for the great advice! I could have got a Z for a decent price over the winter, but I had to put money towards the house and family. That comes before my needs and wants. So Im afraid I can only get a regular C6. I really like the Z51, third favorite color and the dark grey rims make it stand out. So Im probably going to go with that. If I dont like it, Im sure I can get back what I paid for it with that low of miles...

If you're planning on driving the hell out of it, enjoying it, and not really too concerned with resale (forget about a trade-in), I'd say grab that 2007 Z06 and love every second of it.
If I'm not mistaken you're talking about salvage titles right?
