Default Leather Steering Wheel Care

I have the stock C6 steering wheel and was curious what, if anything, is recommended with respect to conditioning the leather from time to time. Clearly the steering wheel gets the most "abuse" in terms of sweat and other body oils, and while I wipe it down with a wet rag with each car washing, I am wondering it a leather conditioner of some sort should from time to time be applied, too.

Any experience/opinions/recommendations?

I have never found a conditioner that didn't make the wheel feel greased. So I stopped conditioning them, or even cleaning them beyond a dry microfiber, most of the time.

After 13 years and 46k miles the wheel in my Trans Am was developing spots. I sprayed a microfiber with several squirts of 1Z Cockpit Premium, and went around the wheel. It cleaned off the spots, and a lot of sheen, which I assume was oil buildup from my hands.

I have a C6 an C7. After trying several auto related "conditioners" and not being happy with the after feel I tried some of the white conditioner sold by Coach for their leather purses, etc. Depending on how much you put on it will leave the wheel feeling a bit slick for a few days but the leather soaks it up and it feels like new.

I have been using the Zaino cleaner and conditioner and am satisfied. I don't do it very often since mine is not a DD but when I do, I use the cleaner as directed and then apply the conditioner. I usually do this at the end of a day or evening and just let it sit overnight. It absorbs nicely and doesn't need any additional buffing or wiping. The added bonus is that these 2 products have a very nice leather scent to them.

Condition the leather steering wheel during periods of inactivity (winter). As mentioned the leather will absorb the product in a week or two.

Use Adam's Leather Cleaner. It will clear the steering wheel of the shine that comes from the oil on your hands. Don't put anything else on it. You'll get the shine back if you do.

I use this product on all my leather surfaces including the steering wheel.

I apply it about once a month when I do a complete detailing job.

It will give leather a semi gloss look and feel, but is quickly absorbed, and keeps leather soft, and new looking.

I use it on my wife's Nissan Rogue SUV as well, and never had an issue, or problem.
