Congrats. It doesn't get any smoother than that!
Sounds like you weren't curious enough to ask to talk to the mechanic that did the work. It would be interesting to know if all they indeed did is replace the fuel pump module and what the old one looked like at the fitting that cracks.

I actually had considered asking to see the parts replaced, but my service rep has been moved to the Silver Star Cadillac dealer which is about a block or so away. Consequently, the mechanic who did the work was not on the premises of where I picked up my car.

Got a letter with a reimbursement form. I had the repair done at an independent shop last year so I submitted the receipt to my dealer. Hoping a get a refund! Total I paid was $1854.

Got the letter from Chevrolet last week. It covers my 2007 C6 for 10 years or 120,000 miles following in-service date. In-service date was March 2007, so I just made it. Following advice on this forum I submitted a complaint with the NHTSA. Would like to think my complaint along with many others, moved GM to issue a recall.
Has had a varying degree of fuel smell since I bought it last April. Yesterday I filled it and took it to the dealer. Service rep could smell fuel right away. Left it for repairs which he estimated would take 3-4 days depending on availability of parts. Dealer had just completed repairs on another Vette that morning so they know what they have to do. Because fuel tanks are on either side of car, the transaxle must be dropped to get at the driver's side tank where the pump module is.

Just got my '08 Coupe back after 3 days. Dealer replaced the LH fuel pump at no charge. At my expense they replaced the vent valve and harness which was throwing the PO449 code. Hopefully no gas smell anymore. We shall see. Fingers crossed.

Just walked by the car and it stinks of raw gasoline. Wife says maybe just residual smell and that it can't still be leaking. Hmmmm. Why can't life be simple?

I received the letter on the 14th and sent it out on the 15th - still waiting to hear back from gm.
Has anyone went straight through GM (the letter stated you could just send it to them along with the invoices instead of dealing with your dealership), and how long did it take to receive a response?
Thanks!

I went directly to GM. I think I posted on February 16tg in this thread that I mailed in the forms and receipts. This morning I received a wonderful call from GM telling me the check was in the mail and the repair would be warrantee'd by GM for 10 years from date of service. Needless to say, I will be driving and buying Corvettes for the rest of my life. Just bought my '17 GS in December.

My 06 has an inservice date of Sep 07. I don't have the smell but am wondering if I should take it in anyway. Sometimes it seems the mantra if it isn't broke..... works best. But I don't want to suddenly start having an issue in say December.

Are the fuel system components which tend to fail (and are part of this voluntary fix by GM) sensitive to vibration from bad roads? Just curious, because our '07 (in-service date of Sept. '06) does not (yet) have any problem, but some of the roads in our area and near the Bay Area of CA are horrible. Thanks.

With all the rain we have had the roads are not much better up in Sacramento either. I do have a warranty that will take me another 2 years so I guess I will wait and see

Yeah, I've read that. I was just curious because (perhaps it's the ethanol that does it) the plastic gets brittle and all one needs is to drive over several miles of chuck holes to help the damage along. . . .

Finally got mine fixed last week. The level sensor on the right side was leaking too. so that was $1200 out of my pocket... Not real happy about that, but I am happy I can put more than 5 gallons of gas in it

If it smells like raw gasoline, it's still leaking. A residual will still have an odor but it's not like the smell of raw gas
