got it fixed
Only had the 2009 for 3 months and had it at the dealer 3 times some test showed nothing last time they pulled some skid plates and said there was liquid but could not say for sure from were. I did buy a warranty when I purchased and told them go ahead and hope its covered. The leak was the fuel pump and thankfully that was covered, I paid 300 for some hoses and what ever was not covered but the paid 1900, glad I bought the warranty and did file a complaint.

Follow up - the new pump they just installed leaked. At least it happened to them before they delivered it to me. Now they are looking all over for a new pump. It took them 2 weeks to get the defective one in.

Not you got me wondering what is the right convertible for me.
(I don't really want a Mustang but I would like to try out that 5.0 motor!)

The new Mustang is nice. We are going to get one soon. To replace Michelle's Malibu. Ford has better build quality now than GM. No more new GM for me unless that changes.

Please keep this thread on topic.
Latest report I have shows 109 complaints on the NHTSA site. If you have this problem, be sure to report it. This is the only means we have to force something to get done about this. I'd sure hate to see someones car or home to burn down because of this. Hopefully we can get some action on it before that happens.

I haven't been able to compare them side by side, so I don't know what the changes are.
See page 6 of this thread for more info.

Unfortunately, a part number change really doesn't mean anything. What were the dates of those changes? What part # was installed in 2013 cars since there are reports of leaks with them as well? A blueprint/spec. change is what would tell the story.

Add me to the list, the garage has smelled like gas for the past 3 weeks. Got a fill-up the other day and the smell is worse than ever.
Since it's an auto and the Trans needs to be dropped, looks like I'll be upgrading from 2.56 gears to 3.15, new sending unit, cross over tube, and Z06 fuel pump...

I don't usually fill mine up because I don't drive it a lot. I finally topped it off and there is no smell, but mine only has 10K miles.
Is this fuel pump specific to Corvette? I would think trucks and SUVs would use the same pump.......at least the 6.2L models.
