Default Race Ramp-Oil Change

Do race ramps get the car to high for all the oil to drain out??

Thanks...

aren't those ramps about 8" tall? and the ground clearance of the sideskirt area is about 4-5". bear in mind, the ramp will be slightly in the way too. is that enough room for you to get your arm in and get the work done? probably. will it be a tight squeeze? yup!

just jack that corner up, drain it, put the corner down, jack the rear up a bit to get the final bits out, put the rear down, jack that corner up to put the plug and filter on etc then finish the job.

For me it's not that tight of a fit. I can get in there comfortably and take the filter off and the plug out.

They are a little higher than they need be, being the drain plug on my 2006 is towards the middle on the pan. I use the end of my drive which is down hill, so when I use the ramps, the oil pan is very level.

disregard my post about the ramps being in the way. I'm special. I was thinking about crawling under the side, but obviously, you'd worm your way in from the front where it wouldn't be a problem.

the part about jacking the rear up will really help get all of the oil out though, on the ramps, you won't be able to get all of it out.

If you need to get in from the side you can move the lower part of the ramp out of the way.

I just used my Race Ramps to change my oil. Mine are 10" high and 2 pieces so I can remove the ramp part for easy access.

I didn't jack the rear of mine up when doing the oil this year. It's my first year with the ramps and it seemed to all drain fine. I can't see that much staying in there.

Plenty of room for even my fat *** to fit under the car...

Same here. I bought them for my Vette, but I use them for all of my cars. They work very well. Worth the money, in my opinion.
