C7 wheels on a C6, yay or nay?
Just curious what the overall thought is towards putting off gen wheels on a car. I've got a set of comp. gray repro Z06 wheels on my 06 and I'm thinking of going with something new and I like some of the black C6 repro wheels, but also like the look of the C7 base wheels in black. However I'm not sure on the thought of putting C7 wheels on a C6. Wondering if others think that kind of thing is a no no as far as mixing and matching goes. Not trying to start any flame wars, just curious what others honestly think. Thanks.

I never cared for the practice in any generation.

I'm with you. It feels a bit poser-ish or mix matched to me. It's one thing to put repro wheels of the same gen on...for instance I have Z06 style wheels on a non-Z06, but it's still the same gen so it feels ok to me.

I have no problem using wheels from another gen. I think the C5 with C6 polished 5 spokes is an awesome look. I have noticed several on the C5 forum so it must be a popular move.

There was a post a few weeks ago of a C6 with the C7 wheels - I think they looked good.

I wonder how long it's going to take before someone calls him a "poser", or "C7 wannabe", or something else equally as stupid.

If they fit, you can't beat the deals...
I have seen new wheels with new Michelin's for as low as 1200.00.
People are replacing the wheels and tires as soon as they drive off of the lot.
My question is do they fit a C6 Base?
You can't buy the tires for 1200.00. I would do it. Those wheels look sweet.
The only poser in my eyes are the jokers who buy Corvettes and only drive them in warm dry weather to the local car show then directly back home.

I thought about sourcing C7Z wheels in black for my GS. Ended up going with forgestars in black instead lol
