Default Underhood Bussed Electrical Center (UBEC)

Received a letter today (1/21/15) from Chevrolet in Milwaukee, WI regarding a recall to fix the low-beam relay control circuit routed wire. I'm reluctant to take my 2010 Grand Sport to the dealership for this fix. I may drive the car at night 5% of the time; so I'm not concerned. Has anyone else received this letter? And what do you plan to do.

If the low beams suddenly go out, you can just push the turn signal stalk forward to turn on the high beams for emergency use. If you remember in time...

I'm wondering about bringing in our 2009 (we got the letter too), I've heard that the later (2009 and later?) years don't actually have the problem, but can't find out for sure.

In answer to your question:

Every C6 will eventually receive a letter advising of the recall.
#N13146 covers all 2005-07 Corvettes.
#N14203 covers all 2008-13 Corvettes.
Call your dealership service department, give them your VIN number to confirm, they will order the parts necessary and schedule an appointment. Takes about 45-60 minutes and there is no charge to you.

Anyone know why the cars are divided into two groups, each with a different number?

Back when the recall was first announced, 'twas said that the 2008-13 Corvettes didn't really need the fix but GM was doing it as a Customer Satisfaction Campaign, or something like that.

I don't want someone breaking something that isn't broken, trying to fix the unbroken.
But if the problem is real on our 2009, then I do want it fixed.

Could be the whole LS2-LS3 change in engines since that's where the breakdown occurs 05-07,08-13.. and/or the Grand sport added to the line up too.Or ...just GM's way of doing things.

i honestly dont think people drive their corvettes enough for the average person to experience this issue.
