Default This Is What I Get For Having A Wide A$$

Well I bought my 2012 Grand Sport in mid January see:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-c5-forum.html

Was going to have it transported from Midland TX to Indianapolis.( I know you all told me to fly and drive but work constraints made that difficult.)

After Hiring and firing Reliable Auto Transport, then hiring Intercity............. Intercity was to pick up today but says its too wide to fit in their trailer! Guess my wide A$$ is making me fly to Texas.

Hope the airlines don't make me buy 2 seats!

Looking for flight tickets now............................

They must have an awfully narrow trailer.

I can't imagine that their trailer won't fit a GS!

Outside edge of rearview mirror to outside edge of rearview mirror (the widest point on the cars) the C6, GS and Z06 are the same exact width.

They must have tried a 8-1/2' wide trailer that had the enclosed box set inside the wheel wells and it certainly won't fit in that.

That's ridiculous. A GS is wider than a base but is definitely not on the widest car list by a long shot. An H1 Humvee is wide, a GS comparatively not.

Clearly, yet another reason to avoid a Grand Sport, and buy a Base 'vette.

Not only is the GS slower, has useless body flares, phony vents, more expensive tires, is a poser with funny looking fender hash marks, and costs more, but it's also too wide to fit in a trailer that can comfortably carry a Lamborghini Testarossa.

Man, do I feel stupid for buying one.

I always have to be careful when pulling out of my garage because of my wide a$$. I have a 3 car garage, but the 3rd spot is tandem and that is where the GS sleeps. I just can’t pull straight out or I will hit the part of the wall that sticks out about 2 feet.

The widest point on any C6, GS or Z06 is from the outside edge of the driverside rear view mirror to the outside edge of the passenger side rear view mirror. All are the same distance.

Headlights are the same distance apart, tailights are the same distance apart. The front and rear fenders of the GS and Z06 are wider due to the flares.

I don't think they believed your first post, let alone your second one

To the OP, come on down to Texas. 70 + degrees this weekend and spring weather all next week!! Great top down weather.

Yes, you're right. I just meant it's unbelievable that a GS cannot be trailored because it's too wide and now judging from the photos above, it's a moot point.

Only when the mirrors aren't folded in.

My GS fit in an Intercity trailer with plenty of room to spare.

Obviously this wasn't the mode of transportation sent to the OP.
